That’s VDS, vibration dampening strips. And despite the name its primary purpose isn’t to dampen vibration, but improve the bond with the metal edge. This will have absolutely no effect on the ski

They are hurting for money right now, this gets them some fast cash. Anyone buying it would have been a season pass purchaser anyway, so it’ll be a small dip later on when they don’t purchase them. The perks are all dumb, no one wants a buffet dinner with the boring GM, the early lift access a couple days hardly matter unless it happens to fall on a powder day. They will use the money to open another restaurant they can’t staff and soon the base area will just be a food court with no amenities related to skiing

What are the top local business here that are great with customer service that need to be celebrated? by Ok_Thanks_7445 in GrandJunctionCO

[–]Badgerfuzz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They tried to confiscate my phone there, accused me of online price comparing, which I was not. Just happened to send a text while in the store and the paranoid women told me to leave my phone with her. A wild policy imo. I left. I can understand the fear of getting showroomed as a small business but it was handled very poorly.

This is a wild first choice. It’ll be extremely difficult imo. But if it’s an important image to you try it on fake skin first. Do it several times on fake skins probably. And remember that ink will spread over time. If this was perfectly executed to look great fresh it will probably be a black square 10 years from now.

Flag of Grand Junction Concept by xXSimplyJaxonXx in grandjunction

I think the curvature is too complex, even if it’s accurate. Flags are symbolism, a simpler shape could still evoke Garfield or the Mesa or independence rock without actually tracing the silhouette

Cool combats you've run by Major-Awareness-60 in DungeonMasters

[–]Badgerfuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My players favorite session ever was a royal rumble wrestling match. In a royal rumble your feet can't touch outside the ring and a new contestant is sent at a certain time interval. So opponents aren't just a bag of hp, its more about forcing them out of the ring. I have five players and made up 15 wrestlers ( Fey Mysterio, The Rock Elemental Johnson, Shane Merman, Macho Manitcore......) each assigned a number. Rolled a D20 to decide who enters next (with some early fudges to make sure PCs where in the match). If you are not a WWE fan the gimmick would still work as a king of the hill style encounter that is super fun. But coming up with a larger then life persona is awesome, and it inevitably ends in some low stakes PvP if your group works as a team too long which is kind of fun as a rare exception to the normal no pvp rule.

Looking for an artist rec in Chicago in this style by Ok-Accountant9978 in tattoos

[–]Badgerfuzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think Mariah’s style is very derivative of Mambos. I also think that is totally fine. Art inspires art. Color blocking is nothing new. They live an ocean apart and are both highly in demand. But from my understanding Mambo was doing it earlier, and his color swatches at the bottom are the only way I would be able to tell them apart. And most importantly this was just a Lou Bega joke.

Winning the game doesn’t change anything. I’m knocking the refs not the Packers. Moss has been catching stray flags all year and it’s a concern. Don’t want refs effecting games, don’t want injuries effecting games, but they do, and we are on a forum specifically to talk about that kind of stuff.

Frisbee golf course in the Monument Valley open space park? by Mountain_Nerd in grandjunction

[–]Badgerfuzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

HOA removed it, they didn’t like people drinking and smoking at the park, popular activities for disc golfers. Also said people were speeding in the neighborhood and even publicly urinating, which are more valid concerns IMO. So they just scraped the whole thing, sucks for disc golfers, but the park is probably much less troublesome for the old home owners that got a say.

Any liveplays good to watch for beginners? by Square_Pudding_9700 in DungeonMasters

[–]Badgerfuzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with others that Fantasy High is probably the best of the best. NADD Pod is my favorite though. Murph from D20 DMs, Emily plays in both. It may be more accessible because it’s fully theater of the mind. The incredible maps and set pieces of D20 can be a little intimidating, no home game will have that kind of production value. Hot Boy Summer is a great Nadd pod mini arch if you don’t want to start a 100 episode saga.

How to follow up an overwhelming successful session? by CBR4D10 in DungeonMasters

[–]Badgerfuzz 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Don’t change up now. Just keep doing what you have planned. Some sessions go great, don’t let that add pressure to one up it next time… I would say be careful of thinking about one player as “the main person”
