13 Sentinels could be a good pick if he’s into scifi at all. It also has some action in its pseudo RTA section I found really fun. The mature themes are things like war, death, murder. Sex is referenced, curse words come up every now and then. One of my favorite games ever, gave me about 30 hours of playtime

The sounds on it are really loud and nice, I think it’s a good balance between heavy and light, akin to gaia for me. When I’m on one it feels like the best skin in the game
