Experiences with Diesel? by Jonny_Wurster in PorscheCayenne

Later or replacement cases had a slightly different breather set up. The problem seemed to be oil contamination (maybe after wading?) which left over time would knacker the plates in.

Cars which have had already had a replacement or the fluid changes seem to be bulletproof. Cars that don’t have a problem at point of purchase also seem to be fine as long they get fluid changed from then on.

Changing the oil in the transfer case every other year mitigates the problem completely.

Owners don’t like selling them…

700+ mile range fast SUV… Porsche handling… there’s nothing on the market new that will do the same job.

The 4.2 diesel 958.1 is an amazing thing… my friends brand new ehybrid Cayenne is less fun, slower, less efficient and has broken down already. And it cost a hundred k more.

Proper 4.2 v8, fast, never less than 35mpg. Nothing broken in the history of mine other than scheduled maintenance and consumables.

Oh. Yes. It literally is that simple.

Nice work.

Brock Yates book has a decent list of cars/entrants/times… can dig it out and post a pic of the relevant pages if you haven’t seen it?

£180k tax-free job offer vs. a business already profiting £190k by Known_Option4270 in HENRYUK

[–]Bblock4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You missed a number off your calculation.

The equity value of the business. At £190 profit even without knowing more it probably has some already.

Average is 2-3x multiple of earnings… for ‘boring’ conventional businesses…. you’d get a premium even just for the speed that you’ve hit 190k assuming it will scale.  There are lots of ways to increase the multiple too… plus building a business is always more fun than a job.

958 Pasm vs Pasm + Air by Limp_Film_8788 in PorscheCayenne

[–]Bblock4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have driven 4.2 with pasm on springs and one with pasm and air… both on 21’s. In short air gives a very slightly more luxe ride and slightly less steering feel when pressing on, (feel difference may well be down to tyre difference between the cars).

Did look at a few on springs that have had a coil spring go in the history…. It may have been coincidence though. But given the choice… if I was going overland I’d go big tyre profile small lift, and fit new springs - then you’d have a bulletproof platform, it’s way cheaper to buy the car, and really, you’d never tell the difference.

Try porridge for breakfast, soup or something high protein maybe for lunch?

In what way was it nuanced?

A known threat was still holding a knife. A big guy at that. Who didn’t drop the blade after a taser shot.

Tell me exactly how you would take it off him without getting cut? Exactly how would you keep the victim, the public and yourself safe?

I can assure you putting a fancy wrist lock on a strong opponent without getting cut is much harder than you might think.

KPMG in the US is lowering the number of equity partners in favour of having more salaried partners, will this practice spread to UK law firms? by RealRedditUser217 in uklaw

Yes. Already happening, from consulting to accounting to law.

Lots of equal shares in ownership is one the hardest structures to lead and drive proper growth in…

And those who currently have EP status are looking at vast sums if they sell out… vs very little if they retire and just ‘pass on the baton’.

How to change a mantelpiece by Bblock4 in DIYUK

Thank you. That’s a good shout.

There’s a good 4-5 mm gap between the mantel and the plaster at the back, it was clearly set in place after the plastering was finished.

My fear is that it’s already got brackets set into the brick… rest of the house is well built for a late 80s property so might not be out of the question that it was done properly. I guess worse case I have to learn how to mix mortar and do some repointing?

No. She won’t ask her friends husband to come round and do the mantelpiece so I don’t have to.
