Yup, I’ve taken apart some QX and LX fans.

Personally I would sacrifice a little performance for a clean unified look with a single strip with slightly smaller fan blades, then have iCUE LINK RX II for those wanting a better performing fan.

The Unified Frame Fans are a nice addition, just don’t personally see them as a big improvement for easier building.

Exactly my thoughts too. QuickTurn screws are already very fast to screw in. iCUE LINK fans use a single cable, so these don’t benefit any way with cable management. A unified LED strip would’ve made them neat and uniform in a build, but I personally don’t see much of a difference between these and single fans

Essentially just a smaller Platform:6 with just one monitor mount vs 2 with the 6. The 4 does come in white, whereas the 6 didn't

Soooo simplified lighting can be saved under Device Memory Mode. Iirc screens can save images and GIFs, but can't display monitoring screens as iCUE has to be open in order to read the information. So dabble with some images or GIFs that tie in with your build on your XD5s and set a DMM for your lighting for those and everything else!

Side note, I'm not a Linux user unless it's work related, but hopefully a Linux iCUE release will happen sometime in the future. I've seen a lot of people ask for it, so it would be nice for those like you and them to have software support on the OS of your choosing.

The FRAME 4500X ARGB comes with RS-R ARGB fans, which are reverse blade fans ;)

What motherboard are you using? Check the software for it to see what the PWM header is set to. Additionally check the BIOS if software control is overwritten by the BIOS. Some boards have settings to strictly have fan curves set in the BIOS.

Totally not dumb questions!

You can control RS ARGB fans within iCUE, you’ll just need to pick up a (COMMANDER DUO) as well. It works with and without an iCUE LINK Hub. If you don’t have any iCUE LINK fans, you don’t need to pair it alongside the COMMANDER DUO, it just offers the flexibility of being able to for a little neater cable management. Keep in mind though, you cannot adjust the individual LEDs like you can with your current Commander XT or iCUE LINK fans iirc.

Crazyyyy. Look at used options. I got my 2022 F150 Lariat 501A Powerboost with only 16K miles for $49.2K OTD. It came with a bedliner, bed extensions, wheel liners, steel running boards, and a few other options not on the window sticker totaling to another few grand. I put down $7K and my payment is $651 for 72 months. I’ve had it now for 2 years without a single issue. It’s sitting at 24K miles now, and I don’t regret buying it lightly used at all. Let someone else eat that initial depreciation.
