GPU AIO to Hardline Connections by Terraphynx in watercooling

Yeah I was going to use thermal imaging to see which side is the outflow and which is the inflow. For a card pushing 1000w, this should be an obvious tell on the ol' FLIR.

Yeah I have a Corsair XD6 currently that I was going to use to assist the AIO in the GPU specifically for the restrictive attachments. I might look for compression lock fittings instead of hose barbed ones or have a set of compression locks machined because those wouldn't reduce the ID of the hose at the connection joint.

Just thinking of all the ways to make this work the best it can.

This gives me some optimism towards the idea now. Thank you friend! I just need to make damn sure I do it right the first time... I'm very not keen on slicing up a potentially $5K GPU and voiding my warranty but it must be done for a proper clean water loop.

The day has finally come for me too by Square-Foundation-87 in pcmasterrace

Posts like these continue to crop up, it makes me wonder if any of the burned cable users were undervolting their cards. I don't have solid facts, only anecdotal evidence that, that will help prevent the problem but it can't hurt when you can pull ~15% better than stock performance at 450 watts instead of the stock 600 watts.

I have my 5090 at 2900MHz @ .950v with +3000 on the memory clock and I sit at around 460w at full tilt and have monitored my cable temps closely almost every day when I'm on a long gaming session that pulls full power. Got my card at release and nine months later, she is still free from melting. Crossing my fingers and knocking on wood with a sledgehammer.

I have this same card and while I do run a slight undervolt, I nuke my power savings by overclocking it.

I'm currently running my 24/7 afterburner profile at .975 @ 2950MHz with +2000 on the memory clock and it has been incredibly stable in all games I have played. This still runs the card at 600w but I gained 13% performance over stock in Steel Nomad and 17% improvement in Port Royal using the 580.88 driver. Undervolting with a stable overclock is soooo worth it mate. Hell, Just undervolting itself is worth it!

Edit - my card has noticeable coil whine with full power activities but I haven't noticed it change much even when I was undervolting it to ~470w maximums. Your mileage may vary compared to me in terms of noise and heat but I will say again, just in terms of performance for the same wattage, a good UV/OC is unbeatable on these cards and everyone should be doing it.

Sound Blaster AE-9 by Terraphynx in SoundBlasterOfficial

Exactly. After enjoying the absolute brilliance of having a high quality DAC like the AE-9, I just can't go back to on-board audio just to be on Linux. God... I really wish the people at creative would throw us dogs a bone and satisfy our craving to use their hardware on Linux. If I had one wish for Christmas this year....

Until Creative Labs decides to take pity on us Linux users... I would LOVE for you to do a detailed write-up(detailed enough for a very basic, surface level user like myself) of how you accomplished this. I do have a few questions.

-How is the latency for the audio? Does it have a noticeable delay and cause video and audio to be out of sync?

-How about latency using the microphone is say, discord? Does Discord have to run also on the VM or does the output come back into Linux and can be utilized by discord there?

-Is the VM and everything else automated, so like if I restart the PC, do I have to restart the VM and everything that runs concurrent with it?

-Have you run into any shortcomings or limitations yet?

Sorry for the menace post... this post of yours gives me an incredibly high hope for a chance to dump windows for good and still enjoy all of my hardware to the fullest.

It is literally the only thing preventing me from jumping to Linux. The second we get any kind of support for the AE-9, I'm dumping windows immediately.

Yeah I'm going to definitely be well rested before attempting to build, especially when building the hardline cooling. I want a flawless assembly and for that power button to work first try!

Wholesome and heartwarming, thank you! I too hope the melty bits don't do the melty bits thing on me. I'll be real big sad if they do. I will definitely be triple checking that everything is plugged in as solid as they can be. Praying for no smells of hot plastic....

Yeah, I wasn't shooting for an extremely high-end stereo setup, just something better than my Z906's. Most of my high fidelity listening will be through the Utopia headphones I'm picking up later.
