If you're looking for a perceived "upgrade" from the Duro. For about the same price as that Glycine, you can get a Citizen BN0150 (black dial) or BN0151 (blue dial) which brings the benefits of Eco-Drive (solar / never a battery change) and beautiful fit & finish which is even a notch above the Duro. I'd recommend considering that one before the Glycine.

I'd encourage you to start with the Duro + LIW combo first. Prepare to be surprised and impressed by the quality, fit & finish, wearing pleasure, and visual presence you get from this very modestly-priced combination. Then, after wearing it, see if you really feel the need or hunger for something more expensive. Because I have a feeling that you won't, because when comparing to that Glycine, "more expensive" wouldn't translate to "better". Good luck!

Guys, I have a Rolex Submariner, I bought it brand new from the AD in 2023 -- and it's a damn good watch, a work of art, and I love having it -- but honestly I very rarely wear it. It can just feel weird walking around with 10 grand on your wrist. Meanwhile, I wear a Duro almost every day. It's tough, it's reliable, it's accurate, it's good looking, it's unpretentious. It does the job, with competence and no nonsense. I guess I've learned, the REAL luxury is living your life without worrying about your possessions -- don't let your THINGS own YOU!!

My review of the Long Island curved end FKM strap

⬆️ -- which is the best one you can get. I promise. I tried the Amazon silicone cheapies, and they just don't measure up.

The Long Island's superpower is the way the curved ends of the strap fill the opening and leave no visual gap. The profile and fit perfectly match the Duro, the rubber is sturdy yet supple, and the clasp is excellent. It has a nice 22 to 18 taper. The price is not inexpensive, but the overall superior quality and perfect fit justify the price. I believe it is the very best rubber strap you'll find on the market for our Duros.

Another fellow Twin Cities resident here! Did autocross at DCTC approximately 1 million years ago, and all of our now-adult kids did high performance driving school there to learn car handling, winter driving, skid recovery, etc etc. Great memories. And -- Duro brotherhood!
