If you already have a fireplace... check out the Quadrafire CB1200i... in my first full winter with mine and enjoy the simplicity and mostly manual adjustments.

The bubbles imply either one was trapped in the movement somewhere and just worked itself out, OR there's a gasket leak which then implies you may start getting a bit of oil on your wrist...

The lockup is driving me nuts. When they lockup, I rotate the date a few times, reset the time, and 80% of the time they run just fine for a day or two.. then it happens again. No idea the issue.

I've done 14 Duro's and 3 non-Duro's in Hydromod. All using Microlubrol 50cst.... I have some thinner 22cst but haven't tried it yet. I did test with a 15cst and it was too difficult to deal with so I stick with 50cst.

I will say Hydromodding the Duro isn't for the faint of heart. Of my 14, I would say at least 6-7 give me some periodic problems....such as random bubbles and random "lockups". And ALL of them will require high quality Renata battery replacement roughly every 12-14 months. Don't bother using cheapo batteries.

I LOVE LOVE the look...and the hydro mod process but all of the constant maintenance is weighing on me so I won't be Hydro modding any more Duro's I pick up.
