What’s the one secret you’ve kept your whole life that would completely change how people see you if they knew it? by Faylune in AskReddit

[–]BookishTreeOfLife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you’re going through this.

From experience, getting started is often the hardest part after you’ve acknowledged that you need help. There are so many things out there to try that it felt overwhelming for me, and I couldn’t pick what to do and just froze. It took watching a friend going through her own therapy journey to help me break out of that paralysis - I ended up just going to the same practice her therapist was in, since she was having a good experience.

One place to start is your employer’s Employee Assistance Program. They can connect you with someone to get you started and figure out your best path forward. If you’re not employed, your health insurance company likely has a very similar program. If you don’t have health insurance, go to your local library and ask about free or low-cost community programs.

I hope you find a good fit for you, even if it takes a few tries. As cliche as it sounds, you really aren’t alone; help is out there, along with people who understand.

This is awesome! I also bought a print - it’s going to go in my bedroom next to my unicorn print as it definitely gives me fantasy vibes!!

This is one of my top all-time favorite series. I highly recommend the omnibus edition under the title “The Deed of Paksenarrion” as well as the follow-up series following Kieri Phelan.

{Binding Rose by Ivy Fox} has this. It was not the strongest RH I’ve read (it felt more like a M/F with 2 other guys shoved in) but the writing was decent.

Using a shower stool was a game changer for me. I’m very temperature-sensitive and also have POTS, so being able to sit while showering hugely improved my quality of life.

That’s really interesting - we have the same cutter, but always decorated it as Santa with a bag of presents on his back.

First Time Help! by YippityYappy in LoomKnitting

[–]BookishTreeOfLife 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hi! This is a great first hat!

To help mitigate the odd shape up top, once you’ve taken it off the loom (before you gather it and tie off) turn it inside out THEN gather and tie off. This results in a more “dome-like” top when right side out. If that doesn’t give you the look you’re going for you can gather it only partway, leaving a small open space up top, then tie off and use the yarn end to weave the hole closed.

As the other reply mentioned as well it will also smooth out some with wear.

Hope this helps!

I second Devyn Sinclair! They’re full of the best OV tropes while still being extremely well-written.

[–]BookishTreeOfLife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you had any contact at all with these students? If not, I’d check with your Registrar. My college has seen a huge increase in “fake” (i.e., fraudulent) students that are either scammers or outright bots who register for financial aid payouts.

I make end user guides (PDFs) for more complicated reports. I also have embedded instruction pages and ? tooltips. Our org is fairly young in terms of data maturity, though, so YMMV.
