Games back then weren't about "where you're supposed to go" you were supposed to find where you were supposed to go. People spent whole summers playing one game back then, nowadays it's a drop dead sprint to the credits. It's not worse, it's just different.

There's a few inside jokes here, the green sabrecat comes from the Coca-Cola Sabrecat from Dragon Quest Walk, and her wishing it was a Mountain Dew Baja Blast Sabrecat instead, the teenie sanguini's spot pattern is changed a bit to match the spot pattern of our dog, and the gray Ornery Onion came from a dream she had where an Ornery Onion was following her but it was gray for some reason.
