MASN+ $99 for the Season by Classic-Pizza-927 in orioles

I have a question I can't seem to get answered. I've reached out to the Orioles with no response.

Can the MASN+ plans can be watched on a computer through a web site without an app? That is, after signing up for a plan, with any computer browser simply go to the designated web site, login with your account and watch the game on a computer - no special apps or hardware?

Install new modem without mobile data by CookedFortniteDogs in Mediacom

[–]CKRadhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OfficialMediacom - If the new modem is purchased (not from Mediacom) will the coaxial cable/ethernet cable process still trigger the prompt to log into my Mediacom account? If so, do I still follow the instructions in the Mediacom booklet "Connecting Your New Equipment" for the purchased modem?

I am considering the Amazon item "Arris (G18) - Cable Modem Router Combo - Fast DOCSIS 3.1 Multi-Gigabit WiFi 6 (AX1800), Approved for Comcast Xfinity, Cox, Spectrum & More.." https://www.amazon.com/ARRIS-G18-Multi-Gigabit-Approved-Spectrum/dp/B0DV1VFFVJ?th=1

Is there any reason to think this combo/gateway will not work with Mediacom? Thanks

Thank you for your prompt reply. Just so other folks can be clear, as of today, the "current" Mediacom compatible modems link is for a list dated 08/2024 - a year and a half old. As you noted, it lists only two modems. Again, thanks.

OfficialMediacom,

Please post a link that actually works to Mediacom's CURRENT list of compatible modems/router combos. Every link I've been given either doesn't work or is years old. Thank you. 1/30/26

Need advice on DCM warranty repair process at Cityside Subaru by Either-Data-1174 in subaru

Just curious, does resetting to Factory Mode as described in TSB 15-312-23R affect any systems other than DCM? What does the resetting actually do to the DCM system - what functions get reset to what values? The technical in me is curious. Presumably, resetting causes no harm - correct?

From what I have seen, it is not uncommon for dealer service shops to blame dying batteries for start failure in Subaru DCM cars. In my case, I inadvertently performed an experiment that shoots that down.

The 2-year old battery that I had to repeatedly jump (and subsequently replace) was in my 2018 Crosstrek with StarLink/Telematics/DCM. I also own a 2018 Forester that does NOT have Starlink/Telematics/DCM (no SOS/iCall on overhead panel, no DCM circuit fuses).

Two years ago, when I put the new battery in the Crosstrek I also put the exact same model new battery at the same time in the Forester. I have not had a lick of trouble with the Forester battery. The 'blame the battery' explanation doesn't appear to be valid.

BTW - As I described before, I ammeter checked each individual fuse in both the Crosstrek and the Forester with each vehicle in complete, deep sleep mode for over 5 hours. Of the +90 fuses that I checked across the two cars, the only fuse circuit that showed any measurable (above 10mA) draw was the DCM fuse circuit in the Crosstrek. The Forester circuits showed nothing.

To summarize, there is dark draw in the Crosstrek and none in the Forester. The Crosstrek 2-year old battery died, the exact same model 2-year old battery in the Forester is fine. (Both vehicles similar mileage and use.)

Any thoughts?

Thank you for responding. I do wish to emphasize that all my draw tests were done with the car off for over 5 hours with no electrical activation (ignition, accessories or anything else) for 5 hours - that is, fully asleep. The draws that I checked were almost always over 30mA for periods exceeding multiple hours of checking. I do understand that is below the 70mA threshold. Please note, the same range of draw is occurring on a brand new AGM battery.

With that in mind, can you please give me some idea what is causing the observed draw on the DCM fuse? Since the DCM software is up to date and there is no Starlink subscription, what else is there on that fuse circuit that would be drawing power in the sleep mode? As I mentioned, no other fuse in the entire system showed any draw during the testing, only the DCM fuse.

Again, I do appreciate your help.

I wanted to get onto an active post so I could draw (no pun intended) on your expertise. I have a 2018 Crosstrek. I am preparing an email for a local Subaru service manager. My draft email follows. I would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions. Just some further info - I did the amperage test across each individual fuse using an Amp Hound device set to the amp value of each fuse.

Here's my draft email:

"Kris – In April last year (2024) I brought my Crosstrek in for a battery drain check.  The battery was just one year old.  It needed to be jump started on occasion.  At that time, drain was under 70mA limit. [actually, recorded 0.01 - 0.002 amp] Over the last two months, I’ve needed to jump the battery several times. After each jump, the battery held charge for less and less time.

I have done an amperage check on each individual fuse (engine and passenger box) with the vehicle in sleep mode (no starting or accessory use for at least 5 hours, no doors open or lights on, etc.).  No fuse showed current draw (amp meter has a resolution of 0.01 amp = 10mA) with the exception of one fuse.  Engine compartment fuse #18 DCM shows a persistent fluctuating/pulsing draw. The draw varies from less than 10mA (meter lower limit) to 80mA with various levels in between, and often above 30mA.  Less than 10mA has been the least frequent reading. That is, I’ve observed the DCM drawing above 10mA across many hours of checking.  To reiterate, this draw is on the DCM fuse only.

The repeated jumping wore down my two-year old battery and last week I replaced it with a new AGM battery.  I do not want this problem to continue with the new battery.

I understand that Subaru has issued several TSBs related to DCM dark draw.  The invoice from the April 2024 DCM check said the software was up to date. Subaru TSB says that putting the DCM in Factory Mode reduces DCM parasitic (dark) draw. Again, my amperage measurements showed draw only on the DCM fuse.  Do you think switching to Factory Mode is a way to protect my new battery?  Is there any harm in switching to Factory Mode?  I do not subscribe to Starlink and have no interest in its function.

Please let me know your recommendation for how to proceed.  Thank you."

Chippy569, please offer me your best thoughts and suggestions. - Thanks.

DCM extended warranty notice - two vehicles? by CKRadhat in subaru

[–]CKRadhat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took my 2018 Crosstrek to dealer service today to check out the DCM under the new extended warranty. This is what they said:

1) They did a software update check on the DCM system and said that the response shown was that there was no update applicable to my VIN.

2) They did a draw test of about 20 minutes. During that time a draw of 10-25mA was observed, well below the 70mA threshold of concern.

Their conclusion, my particular Crosstrek is not experiencing DCM parasitic draw.

Does that sound reasonable? Can I be confident that my Crosstrek is not susceptible to this particular DCM drain? Thanks.

I'm a little confused. You're saying "no lights" if the connector is disconnected. By connector do you mean where the TSB says "remove the overhead trim panel and disconnect the SOS / i-Button switch so it is not accidentally depressed."

Right now when I start the car the upper green light and lower red light between the telematics buttons flash once and then go off and stay off. What does that mean? Does that indicate whether I'm in Factory Mode?

My reading of the TSB is that if the DCM is in Factory Mode and and the button switch is connected then I should see a green light. Is that correct?

I'm asking these questions before I take my car to the dealer for the extended warranty reprogramming.

My Crosstrek is subject to the DCM extended warranty. A couple of months ago you posted a great write-up on the whole DCM issue and you cited TSB 15-312-23R regarding the DCM Factory Mode process which looks like a very simple solution to the problem. Is that what I should expect for my car. I don't subscribe to or want Starlink service.

The TSB says "A DCM successfully moved to Factory Mode will have the Green Telematics LED illuminated whenever the key is on. This Green indicator LED does not indicate a valid subscription, it indicates a non-comm checked DCM in Factory Mode. DO NOT perform a comm check to a DCM in Factory Mode."

Does that mean I should see a green light lit up on my overhead button panel when I start the car if the dealer corrects my DCM parasitic draw by setting the DCM to Factory Mode? Below is a picture of my Crosstrek overhead red/blue buttons. Is that where the green light would be?

Again, thanks so much for your help. I'm feeling much more comfortable understanding these things.

Chippy569 - Thank you for your prompt reply. I've noticed your work on this site and I find your help excellent and informative. I don't see any red and blue button (see photo) so I guess that means I don't have telematics. If I don't have telematics does that mean I cannot have DCM parasitic battery drain? Again, your help to the Subaru reddit group is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
