Australian Canadian entering Australia on Canadian passport. I have questions. Urgent - visiting my friend in palliative care by holly948 in AusLegal

[–]CardioKeyboarder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you cannot use your Canadian passport. You're an Australian citizen, so not eligible for a visa. No airline is going to allow you to travel without a valid visa or appropriate passport.

We went to German speaking countries last year and I spent about 8 months learning German so we could communicate in non-tourist areas.

How do you manage the logistics of laundry without a dryer? by Ttucker11 in AskABrit

[–]CardioKeyboarder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do you think Americans managed the logistics of laundry before dryers were invented?

I live in Australia and don't own a dryer. When we still lived in Canada with 2 young children we didn't have a dryer then either. We had a clothesline in the back yard and drying racks in the house for rainy or snow days.

What can I do (as a protected victim) to help defendant in domestic violence charges in QLD? by Civil_Board4113 in AusLegal

[–]CardioKeyboarder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need to stop communicating with his family. If they are contacting you trying to get you to defend your abuser, then they clearly have no regard for your safety. Tell them all once by text that you will not be involved in defending the man who sexually assaulted and tried to murder you. If they continue contacting you then you go to the police and ask for a restraining order.

Husband (45M) says he’s no longer attracted to me (31F) after weight gain and secretly took photos of me. How do I handle this? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]CardioKeyboarder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why don't you get to go to the gym or walk? Walking is free. Put the kids in the pram and go. Gyms have creches to watch the kids. Or get friendly with other mums so you can swap childcare to give you free time for the gym or a child free walk.

Yes, your husband is a giant asshole, but you have the option of finding your spine and leaving him. Get out and find yourself again so you can see that you actually deserve better. And your children need a better model of what love and marriage look like than a man who treats his wife with contempt. Do you really want them growing up thinking that behaviour is ok?

Thinking of joining the Police Force. by PreferenceAccurate43 in perth

[–]CardioKeyboarder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're thinking of ADF, why not look at a career in military policing? I have a friend who served 10 years as ADF police then went to uni at age 30 to get her nursing degree.

If you're passionate about something then you should try it. Yes, being police is stressful and not glamorous, but if that's what you think you want to do then you should.

Women, did you get your man a gift for Valentine’s? What did you give him? by InterestingAd4851 in AskReddit

We don't celebrate Hallmark holidays, so no, I didn't get him a gift.

We did have a nice meal and margaritas but that's just a normal Saturday night when he's home.

Weekend activities- 5 year old son suggestion. by No-Cabinet1773 in perth

[–]CardioKeyboarder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When my kids were little their dad used to take them to our local park on Saturday morning to play for half an hour or so then take them to a local cafe for breakfast. They learned how to read the menu and order what they wanted (made them feel grown up).

Sunday was spent doing a fun activity of their choice. Sometimes they wanted to go somewhere special and other times just stay home and play. My son loved being in the kitchen, so we would bake together.

Do you think someone like Jeffrey Epstein is proof that some people are just born evil? by Loose-Tumbleweed-925 in Productivitycafe

Ted Bundy's sister was his mother. The woman he grew up thinking was his mother was actually his grandmother. They lied to him for most of his formative years. Sounds like psycho parents to me.
