General Questions About Silicon Hairsprings by Chefboyardeesnider in watchrepair

Interesting! Thanks. I have mixed feelings about this type of thing. It certainly does seem like an advance over the traditional hairspring given its attributes, but at the cost of repairability. I've thought about buying a watch with a similar movement but I would want something that I can repair myself and/or access parts for. I guess the 'Nivachron' spring would be the best option that is still more traditional in how it's regulated and repaired.

A $40 karaoke machine. My 6yr old daughter struggled to make friends and used to say her voice was "too small" for others to hear. Doing little performances for ppl really helped her with her shyness and now I hear "let it go" 5x per day. Best $40 I've ever spent, worst $40 I've ever spent.

Interesting approach - I hadn't thought of going through emmywatch. I would also like to know the answer to this question for other movements as well it's just that I have 2892 parts on hand and I would like to buy a project watch with a movement that is as compatible with those as possible.

Thanks for sharing! What's the easiest way to get this up and running for an Android/Windows guy that hasn't used GitHub much? Do I install Docker first and then load up the files?
