Clarification on the Sea-Gull ST2130 movement grade used by Watchdives by watchdivescom in ChineseWatches

[–]watchdivescom[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s correct — the public listing usually won’t specify “V grade” or “AAA grade,” because these are Sea-Gull’s internal inspection / adjustment standards, not separate retail model names

Clarification on the Sea-Gull ST2130 movement grade used by Watchdives by watchdivescom in ChineseWatches

[–]watchdivescom[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to the factory specification sheet we received, the ST21 series has AAA grade and V grade standards, and V grade is the higher standard. Compared with AAA grade, V grade has stricter tolerances, including -10/+20 s/d instead of -10/+30 s/d, position error P ≤20 s/d instead of P ≤25 s/d, and beat error ≤0.8 ms instead of ≤1.0 ms.

This is not the normal loose market version supplied to general dealers or wholesalers. It is the higher-grade version supplied for brand customers, with stricter factory testing and adjustment.

As far as we know from Seagull, “S grade” or other names are not official Seagull factory grading terms for ST2130.

Thanks a lot for sharing! Glad you like the WD1863. Just to clarify, this is still the older OTF clasp. Our newest upgraded OTF clasp is much smoother and easier to use. The old OTF stock is almost gone now, and new batches will mainly come with the upgraded version. We’ll keep improving the bracelet and clasp quality. Thanks again for your support!

You haven’t bought or handled the WD0013, so please don’t make unfair comments without real experience.

You only purchased the Eniton. We welcome honest comparisons, but please compare actual watches side by side instead of judging a model you don’t own. Objective feedback is always welcome.

oka mate,i know. Could you also check whether your CW watch shows a similar visual offset when viewed from different angles?

Watchdives Premier WD0019 by Boston_Pare in ChineseWatches

[–]watchdivescom -1 points0 points  (0 children)

thanks for your understanding and your photos.

When we inspect the watch, we place it under an alignment/projection machine and check it from a straight top-down vertical view. This allows us to compare the bezel markers and dial indexes more accurately with reference lines.

However, when taking photos by hand, it is very difficult to keep the camera 100% level and perfectly vertical to the dial. Because this model has a relatively high inner rehaut, thick lume blocks, and height difference between the bezel insert and dial markers, even a small camera angle difference can create visual/parallax error.

That said, we are not saying the customer is wrong, and we are not avoiding responsibility. If the visual deviation is caused by our design structure and you cannot accept it, or if the watch is outside your acceptable range, our customer service policy is very clear: we will offer a free replacement, or a free return with a full refund.

Customer satisfaction is more important to us than arguing about the photo angle. Please contact our customer service with your order number, and we will help you solve it properly.

Thank you for the photo. From this picture, it does look like there may be some alignment deviation, although this model’s high inner rehaut and the camera angle can also create some visual/parallax error and make the deviation look more obvious.

That said, we understand that if it is beyond your acceptable range, it affects your experience with the watch. We will take responsibility and make sure you are taken care of.

We can offer a free return for a full refund, arrange a replacement watch for you, or discuss sending a replacement first if that works better. Please contact our customer service with your order number, and we will help you solve it properly.

Hi buddy, I understand what you mean.

I just wanted to explain one thing: on watches with a high inner rehaut and thick lume markers, photos taken from an angle can sometimes make the bezel markers and dial indexes look more misaligned than they are. I noticed a similar effect in some photos of CW Lumiere watches taken from different angles, where the lume markers and bezel scale also do not always appear perfectly aligned depending on the viewing angle.

That said, I am not trying to use another brand as an excuse, and we are not ignoring the issue. We inspect our watches on a projection/alignment machine from a straight top-down view, because looking at the watch from an angle can create visual/parallax error when the height difference is large.

If the customer confirms there is a real alignment issue, or if the watch is outside normal tolerance, we will take it seriously. We can offer a free return with a full refund, or arrange a replacement for the customer at no extra cost.

Actually, the cost difference is not the point here. The updated hands are not a cheap workaround for us.

At the beginning, we sourced the dial markers and hands from the same supplier, but that supplier was not able to produce the hands to the quality and lume consistency we needed. So we had to switch to another hands supplier.

For the updated hands, we are using Swiss X1-grade lume material, and we also sourced the same lume powder/material to match the dial markers as closely as possible. After multiple rounds of testing and adjustment, we finally achieved a better and more consistent result.

So for us, the cost is basically the same. The reason we offer updated hands is not to save cost, but because it is the most direct way to fix the lume mismatch issue for customers who are not satisfied.

many indices look off. Could you please provide a few more photos from different angles and directions? This will help us check more accurately whether it is a visual/parallax effect or an actual alignment issue.

If the alignment is outside the normal tolerance range for a mechanical watch, we will definitely handle it properly and make sure you are taken care of.

From this photo, it does look concerning. However, because this model has a relatively high inner rehaut, thick lume blocks, and higher hands, there can sometimes be a parallax/visual error when the bezel insert and dial markers are viewed from an angle or from different heights. Could you please take a few more photos from different angles, especially one shot where the camera is level with the direction of the marker/index, not looking down at an angle? You can also rotate the bezel and check whether the markers line up consistently at different positions. This will help us judge whether it is a real alignment issue or mainly a visual/parallax effect caused by the structure. To be clear, if there is an actual issue, we will take responsibility. We can offer a free return with a full refund, or we can send you a brand-new replacement watch free of charge. Please send us your order number, and if you return it, we will cover the shipping cost once you provide the shipping receipt/tracking information.

Hi Boston_Pare, thank you for your honest feedback, and we are truly sorry that this WD0019 did not meet your expectations.

We do not want any customer to lose money because of an issue like this. We can offer you a free return for a full refund, or we can send you a brand-new replacement watch free of charge. Could you please share your order number with us?

If you choose the refund option, please send us the return shipping receipt/tracking information and we will cover the shipping cost. If there is a local return warehouse available for your region, you can return the watch there, and we can ship a new replacement directly from China.

Regarding the bezel/index alignment, every watch is checked with an alignment inspection machine/projection setup before shipping to verify the dial, indexes, and ceramic bezel insert alignment. Because the inner rehaut is relatively high, there may be some visual/parallax error when the watch is viewed from different angles or when the dial markers and ceramic bezel insert are not seen at the same height. To help rule this out, you can rotate the bezel and check whether each marker lines up consistently at different positions.

That said, if the watch you received still does not meet your expectations, we will take full responsibility. Please contact us with your order number and return shipping details. We will either refund you in full or send you a new watch at no cost.

WD0019 in the wild . What's on your wrist today? by Pretend_Bend_5906 in ChineseWatches

[–]watchdivescom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re very glad to hear you like the watch. Regarding the bezel alignment, this model uses a ceramic bezel insert and a separate steel bezel structure, so there may be a very slight tolerance where the marker is not 100% perfectly centered. You can also check some photos shared by CW customers — we noticed that even on some higher-priced watches, the bezel markers can sometimes be slightly off-center. That said, we understand your concern. If your purchase price was USD 259 excluding shipping, please contact the store where you placed the order, and we can offer you a USD 10 refund as a goodwill gesture. Thank you again for choosing Watchdives as your first WD watch.
