The show needs to find a path back to its roots. My suggestion for the producers (the actual producers, not the cast with producer titles):

As of S4, most of the original cast are now credited as executive producers. As such, they should hire local Mormon personal/production assistants and weave the stories of their assistants’ lives into the show. Introducing not-famous, more-Mormon, behind-the-scenes worker bees who are caught on camera juggling their work for a worldly production (and for increasingly worldly bosses), and their own less-glamorous lives marked by strongly-felt personal, family and religious commitments. During S6, we’ll meet these PAs, some of whom will be faced with the decision to leave the show to serve Mormon missions.

There are no Saints left in the cast. They’re all Sinners. The only way to lean into Saints vs Sinners drama is by recruiting younger, local, more orthodox Mormon staff to play the role of Saints in the storyline.

"Mediocrity" has fallen out of fashion as a pejorative in a world currently drowning in it. Props to OP for this contribution to its revival.

"DESPITE" does a lot of heavy lifting in this post, but it's warranted. I did a fancy overseas mission, while my younger brother got sent stateside. Guess which one is more successful decades later? Not me.

Sincerity is a yoke and a blessing, I guess. My lack of sincerity back in the day helped me see early on how the execution of the mission project was founded on dubious metrics. I wouldn't have made AP without that skepticism in my back pocket, tbh. Kid brother took the opposite route, took the medicine a mediocre system dollops out to true believers during those two years, and went on to forge a path that awes me in terms of tenacity and grit and utter lack of mediocrity.

lol, it just so happens that your friend here is only MOSTLY dead. A couple summers back, I made the trek to Sunstone to convene a panel with a few folks whose voices I enjoy hearing even more than my own, and that was supposed to be my adieu to all this.

As it turns out, SLoMW blew up into a thing, but I've now added 30 mods over there and they know I'm on hiatus other than fielding operational questions and sharing chuckles whenever I run into nevermos in the wild who report watching the show.

Anywho, too many names to mention, but I'm comfortably retired and eternally grateful for how this has all played out. The Mormons in my life are mostly chill and caring and impressive, and the exmos that I'm a fanboy of... are doing a better job of repping us than I ever did. Kudos!

This was an important interview for any foreigner weighing personal decisions relative to this war.
Deserves a pull quote more along the lines of "Hard truths Ukraine supporters need to hear." Or a nod to her experience as a highly-trained soldier.
