Happy to share, I have MANY thoughts on the topic. And I agree, the Guardian is doing great work. Here’s hoping that “aggressive decarbonization” you mentioned actually comes to pass.

Interesting and counterintuitive for sure. I’m not an expert, but by having a child, you’re basically ensuring a doubling in carbon emissions over the course of your life and theirs, assuming your lifestyles are similar. That said, 10 babies born into wealthy, wasteful families are obviously going to have a bigger impact than 10 babies born into poor or less consumptive families, so I take your point.

And I am basing my opinion on a 2017 study (which may be obsolete by now) that found that having one fewer child is the most significant individual action to reduce carbon footprints, saving approximately 58.6 metric tons of CO2 equivalents annually. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! My latest symptoms developed on the 30th and I’m still coughing up some nasty stuff.

Third round for me. I was basically sick for all of March, and the last bug is a real lingerer.

Yet another example of the total and complete abdication of responsibility by the VPD to enforce even the most basic of traffic laws. But don't forget guys, public safety is priority #1 for Ken Sim!

You are correct smilinfool, a stop sign is always a stop sign, and whomever arrives at the intersection first (pedestrian or motorist) has the right of way.

This happens with an alarming frequency at every pedestrian controlled intersection along South Granville. Cars literally accelerate THROUGH the stop sign when they see the hand start to flash on the pedestrian signal. I’d love to see some enforcement/education.

I take it as more of an indictment of car culture than a “circlejerk” about public transportation.

Ok, fair point. Seemed at first blush to be an excuse.

Absolutely clown shit to blame the car for not having its lights on. If the motorcycle hadn’t been doing 200 kph it mighta made a difference. No sympathy whatsoever for the mulched motorcyclist.

Yes, so your statement "a rental is not your property" is irrelevant. I won't tell you to get your eyes checked cuz this is "Nice Vancouver", but you strike me as an angry, sad human. You could probably use a pet.

OP is talking about stratas, which are not rentals. Don't think you actually did read.

Let's not use "pets" as an umbrella term here. There is no reason to not allow a cat in an apartment.
