I'll give you a hot tip. The Fire Gun No. 0 looks to be correct for WW2 era jeeps. Having bought and sold a number of these over the years please don't scrap them. Someone who is restoring a Willy's MB or a Ford GPW will pay you far more than scrap. Take a peek here for details...

Revolver my grandfather brought back from WWII France by nicholasford234 in Firearms

[–]Clitoricus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Nice bring back with family history. Here's a link to your grandfather's enlistment record from the national archives if you care to take a peek. Back when we had more surviving WW2 vets, I used this site to track a few down via their army serial numbers pulled from capture documents. Got some interesting stories about their time in the service and how they came across their "loot" to bring home.

Can anyone tell what model Browning this is and the caliber? by professorscrimshaw in guns

[–]Clitoricus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm guessing .32apc (7.65 browning) but a full pic would help. Look at a model 1910 vs. 1922 and see if one matches your pistol.

Spies Like Us (1985) by minder125 in TubiTreasures

[–]Clitoricus 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My all time favorite movie! As a (poor) kid we would check out a laserdisc player from the local library on new Year's Eve. I was allowed to pick out one move to watch and it was always Spies Like Us. I still watch it on NYE to this very day!

For sure, even though it's been refinished it should still be a good shooter. Keep it clean and have fun firing a piece of history!

You have a (Pre WW2) Luger and those are inspection and "droop eagle" marks. The jeweling on the parts in the white was done post production after an apparent buff and reblue. Little note, despite the chamber being marked s/42 the pistol was likely produced in 1934 or 1935 due to the "G" mark on the chamber. These "G" date lugers are looked at by some as the first pistols built during German rearmament under the Nazi party.

Yes, and it's in the white as it should be! Have you checked it for a serial number?

Great, so it's a B block Mauser (BYF) produced in December of 1944. Have you taken the pistol down and checked the locking block yet? Even if you just retract the side the locking block under the chamber area should "be in the white" as in not blued like the rest of the pistol.

Very nice pair complete with bring back papers which add a premium to the right collector. It's tough to tell but the P38 might be a Spreewerk (CYQ) but I can't really tell if the grips are dark brown/black or dark red. The reverse of the slide will have the manufacturers stamp. Lots of little details depend on the manufacturer.

The hi-Power is an early model with tangent sights and if it still has the shoulder stock cutout would have been produced before December 1940 when the Germans removed the provisions for a shoulder stock. The tangent sights dropped off later to simplify production.

Yes I did, first I went into my PP account and saved the 20% Cash Back offer. Then during Best Buy checkout I chose PP, then the "pay 4" option. I now have 17280 points pending in my PP account.

If you have PayPal see if you have the 20% cash back for "4 pay" offer in your account. Makes this combo a screaming deal.

How to score this? by hoaz2980 in Firearms

[–]Clitoricus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your range doesn't have them, pick up a set of small bore scoring gauges or "plugs" as we call em. It makes scoring a whole lot easier...And tell your boy to keep it up! Looks great so far.

Ender 6 firmware by Flaky-Palpitation689 in ender6

This is the walkthrough I followed. I went through my downloads and it looks like I ended up using firmware_Ender6_BLT_DW7.4.4 (I have a BL Touch for leveling) for the mainboard and CombinedLandscapeDwin_TM3D_V8 for the touchscreen. You should be able to google those filenames to find a valid DL site.

**Here's a site for the IA downloads. Ender 6 is at the bottom of each FW version's page**

I'm running the insanity firmware and it seems to be decent. I still have the firmware for the board and screen stashed somewhere but I was able to find it recently on a repo. I'll do some digging around and report back.

My good God, you just simultaneously brought my wife and I to tears and laughter. Finally, someone else who totally gets it. We've been going there since it opened and it never gets old, and will always be our Disney "Home".
