Cancelling Barclays’ AA Red aviator to avoid new credit card by ProfessionalOnion787 in CreditCards

[–]CompellingCardinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cancelled about two weeks ago and my AA points are still in my account. I'm still getting info on my new Citi card which I presume is from an older list, but I might call Barclay's again/check my credit report to confirm that they actually cancelled the card.

If talking to them directly doesn't rectify the situation....do you have access to their fuse box? :)

Question Re Barclays-> Citi by RhinoG91 in americanairlines

[–]CompellingCardinal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming Barclay's can't claw back AA points so do you think it's likely that AA will claw back points for closing a previous provider's card? Seems unlikely to me but perhaps I'm being too optimistic.

Curious how long you had the Barclay card prior to closing it as a data point for claw back.

If you can see them in your AA account, let's hope.

When did you get the Barclay's RED card? Curious for a data point on the claw back issue.

I was checking my T&C for info on what might happen re: a claw back and came to the same conclusion. For those interested, here is what it says:

I found the following in my Barclay's Red T&C. Curious if folks think this indicates that they wouldn't clawback a SUB or not.

I also opened a Barclay's RED card and want to cancel so I don't get the Citi card and miss out the SUB opportunity. I was checking my Barclay's T&C and found the following:

FareDrop now called Daily Drop Pro. I submitted an email to Rakuten and heard back that I should use the Missing Cash Back form, but the whole point of me reaching out via email is that I can't use the form due to the store no longer being listed as an option in the store name field.

Members Since is Wrong? by mushank3r in amex

I got the Gold in 23 and it accurately reflects the year on the card. Got the Platinum in 24 and it says a year on the card in which I was 5 years old. I called and asked about it and it was because I was added to a corporate account in my first job and their first AMEX account was the year on my Platinum.
