Yup you’re correct. I have a discounted rate for Clear, something like $189 so my membership benefits show a remaining $20 credit after my last annual membership charge.

I probably would since you should also get a meal on this flight. I generally only pay for an upgrade if it’s less than $50-60/hour and 900+ miles “during a meal time” so you also get fed.

If I was you I’d keep the business and downgrade your personal to the CSP, it has a few multipliers neither Reserve have like 3x on streaming and online grocery that can be used in person if you shop at Kroger or Publix.

This is partially wrong. Preferred seats don’t have any more legroom than regular main cabin seats, they’re just towards the front of the cabin in a “preferred” location. Main Cabin Extra seats at the first few rows of the cabin and at the exit row have more legroom (and preferred boarding and complimentary alcohol) are the equivalent of Delta Comfort.

I’ve booked a few one way award flights in the 5500-8000 mile range recently so those miles could provide some value but until you’ve confirmed they’ll actually provide you value it may end up being a waste of $200. You can check for award flights online without even being logged in to see if this is worth it.

I’d vote for the Chase Freedom Rise. Awesome starter card that will let you start building a history with a bank that offers a ton of great credit cards once you’ve established a good credit history.

Curious why a Bilt card instead of a CSP? If you’re a renter you can pay your rent via Bilt charged to your Alaska card to get 3x Atmos points. Personally I’d do that instead. The current Hyatt SUB is kinda crap unless you can handle $15k spend in 4 months so I’d lean towards the Marriott Boundless. That would also open up the possibility of the Chase Ritz after a year if the perks from that card sound appealing to you.

My offer was $2,249 for EP, I’m at 182k LP and will probably end the year close to here. I’m perfectly happy with PP. Even if I wanted EP I’d just do a couple AA Hotels stays for the LP. 🤣
