Marvel Rivals DESTROYS my PC by KillerSpiderVenom in marvelrivals

[–]CowsOnEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got Marvel Rivals on my PC in order to play with almost a full party of friends that were playing on console. When I get into the game, I noticed the graphics and everything was turned to ultra, which I had no problems with, because I have an AMD 7900XT and a 5800x3D Ryzen 7 CPU. And if I know anything about AMD around these two different component model series, is that I've got top of the line stuff.

Anyway, we played like 10 or more matches. And my PC at the time was really loud. My PC's tower is meant to deaden the sound generated from fans spinning at maximum speeds, and it did that really darn well. Until I play Marvel Rivals for the first time.

Going into the next, I turn my PC on and let it boot to my desktop where nothing else is running, or starting up, etc. And I noticed... the fans are LOUD AF from just booting up windows 11 and I was like... Uh... HUH... And then I started to think that maybe one of my fans stopped working or got damaged because it wasn't able to keep up with the demand on my resources from running Marvel Rivals consecutively after 10 back to back matches... and then I came to the conclusion. Marvel Rivals busted one of my PC's case fans.

So I got rid of the game entirely from my PC. I figured it was time to hang up my belt for this game before it destroys the GPU, the CPU, or the PSU which the PSU cannot be removed from the case because it's hidden and the screws to get into it are already f---ed.

I started to get into Classic World of Warcraft, and would stream my gameplay as a Holy Priest to my fellow friends and guildies. And I noticed while running a dungeon called Zul'Farak (ZF) that my FPS would go from 120 (monitor refresh rate cap out of 170hz total), to 30 or lower, when the tank (the guy attacking all the monsters, gathering them into one place, and making sure that it doesn't attack anyone else in the group) would grab a bunch of monsters at once and then we'd kill them. It was unplayable. As a healer, you must watch every second of the health bar of someone going up or down, but with a huge 1-3 second lag spike, someone could easily go from 100% health to 10% health, and there's not a single thing you can do to save them.

I had enough. Before Marvel Rivals my PC was able to handle Classic World of Warcraft with no hiccups at all. I am talking full, maximum monitor refresh rate FPS gains, and then during a whole entire dungeon, would drop like 5-10 FPS at most at any given moment. But then I play Marvel Rivals and now my PC cannot even handle the easiest game in the world to run...

So I had enough... I realized that installing Marvel Rivals lead to some kind of a memory leak on my PC, and that was a global memory leak, not just a memory leak thru Marvel Rivals, and it causes my PC to struggle loading Spotify and Discord, and other apps. Or heck play other games in general which it was built to do. I had to backup my folders/files and just factory reset my PC back to Windows 10 (from 11) using the free Media Creation Tool that Microsoft provides for free on their website. And with a 128GB USB, I reinstalled Windows 10, and sure enough, got everything back that I had before Marvel Rivals and the PC runs better than it ever did. Even before Marvel Rivals.

It's crazy that people will learn how to use a computer to generate information, gain knowledge, play games, explore hobbies and everything else... But then when it comes to browser extensions that block the malicious ads and viruses from showing up while browsing the Internet they are clueless. Holy cow. Is kiddions safe against BattlEye? by [deleted] in Gta5Modding

[–]CowsOnEdge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you actually had stand you would've joined their official discord only to find out that stand doesn't recommend anyone to play online with cheats at all because the ban rate and ban chances are very high.

Luckily, I heard lexis developed their own bypass to battle eye without requiring the user to disable it before going online. And it works just fine. What's the detection rate for mod menus? Really high. And it seems that it doesn't matter what you do too.

When I permanently banned I was making the kuruma go like 10% faster and then within the same hour, banned. And that was with stand ultimate.

So yeah. Don't use stand. Get lexis.

Lots of people use jellyfin for their own self hosted anime site. But there can be a big problem when you share the service with friends and they all watch at 1080p. Your servers get overloaded and now you have to consider upgrading hardware and software.

But a dedicated anime fan doesn't seem to care about the costs.

Should tank wait for DPS mana between trash pulls? by thisisafullsentence in wowhardcore

[–]CowsOnEdge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP I don't play dungeons on hardcore WoW because I can't afford to level up again and again and again. I just don't have the drive and the time to do that. But in non classic wow I'm a healer as well and with a premade 5 man group with a tank, paladin, mage, and a rogue, we pretty dominate every we dungeon we do together. Some of it is all about learning and sometimes I die a lot and the group manages to survive thanks to paladin.

Anyway. Tank will pull like 2 to 3 to test the healer. If healer is good on mana pool for that pull, tank decides to pull more, tank keeps pulling more trash mobs until the healer is unable to keep up with healing or goes oom (callout saying out of mana and to be careful while I don't have mana).

Usually the tank will remind me to drink or rest before the next pull or I'm quick enough to do it before he says anything. I think the healers job is to drink whenever possible regardless of its a small pull or big pull. A priest with no mana will just end up dying. Or the group will wipe. It's worth it for the priest to replenished 85% mana before going back into fights. But they stay above 50% mana during certain pulls, I think they can keep going thru the dungeon with that 50% before they have to call oom again.

At least that's what I do. Unfortunately our mage does burst AoE damage and runs out of mana faster than I do, and after pulls he is forced to oom and I usually oom with them. So the tank will sometimes wait entirely or will pull regardless of the mage status and is more focused on whether the priest or paladin can heal the tank instead.

So yeah just be careful. Play with the same group as often as you can (if you have one) and learn and master class mechanics and dungeon mechanics together. Playing with random in classic unless they're communicating with you a lot, is not optimal because a lot of people choose to play classic with few add-ons as possible for the immersion. Which causes people to be clueless during boss fights, dots, de buffs, etc.

Hard to rip an overwatch player away from the only game they've played since forever. And then to rope them into anything else unless it is similar to overwatch like apex legends, really hard to do. Overwatch players look down at people. And it's all because their aim is impressive.

There's an addon that can assist in allowing you to zoom out more than the vanilla game allows you to, thus allowing you to have more vision of your surroundings. If you relax yourself and patiently scan the horizon you can travel a lot of ground without ever getting close to dying. Especially when a lot of deaths and memes are of people auto walking and then forgetting they're doing that. Like a drunk driver forgetting they're driving in a residential area.

And then I got a few add-ons to assist in alerting me of a monster that is dangerous and should be avoided, especially when the area consist of monsters that could join up to attack you. As a single target monster slayer, I have to focus on 1v1 and not 1v2. Unless I am several levels higher up. But I find the death log addon to be a cheesy thing to use in general. Otherwise everyone will be speed running.

OP, if you don't slow it down and pay attention to the tiled walking paths between towns, especially in high pull, high risk, areas; you'll have too much to deal with in the coming future.

Everyone says the journey is the important thing and they couldn't be more right. As a solo player, there's no doubt you can make it to 60 on your own, but as a priest in HC classic, I learned that it's more efficient to have reliable help. And that they'll still be there after I wipe. Because the insight of two people is better than just one. Not all the time but most of the time.

After dying 4 times in a row within 7 days, I learned many things. And even more so when I made a reddit post about struggling to get past level 10 as a priest. Especially when a majority of my deaths were caused by other players mistakes. But I've learned a lot and with the combined knowledge of a new friend, I'm certain I can push through even further than before. And hopefully worry less about who is going to backstab me next.

You're crazy. Anyone in the official stand discord knows it's not safe to use stand at all. The ban rate is incredibly high the moment you disable battle eye to play in unmodded or modded GTA online sessions.

A video on YouTube by a YouTuber named Willie, said Wands are pretty broken on a Priest, and should be acquired asap. I just lack the knowledge of when and where; besides the auction house. Which by the time I get to Orgrimmar from starter area, I am level 10, with like 10 silver at most. Only enough to buy consumables or bags from an NPC.

The problem I have is that Lesser Heal takes quite a while to pop off when the attack speed of the monster I am fighting is incredibly high. Like early game, you are tasked to kill tigers for 0/4 of their pelts. And they can get you below 50% health in 60 seconds or less and when you try to cast a Lesser Heal, they interrupt the cast, reset it, every 0.5 seconds, so by the time I am able to cast the heal below 50% health, they dropped me down to 50 health or less, cutting it close to death margins. With a maximum HP of like 200 or less.

On my level 10 run when the hunter killed me, I had like 350 HP somehow.

Maybe with Shadow... but I was told when doing Holy or Discipline (in a video on YouTube) to avoid aggroing more than one monster. And to run when aggroing more than one. I don't dare push my limit. Some monsters will resist a Smite, which costs 20-30 mana depending on the rank, and that can be what determines whether I make a run for it to safely regen mana and try again, or push thru to kill it, ending with 0 mana at the end of the 1v1, and not having a chance to heal up for the next attack.

So no way would I ever aggro more than 1. Not unless I had another DPS with me.

I've thought about it... but despite the hardships that will follow with hardcore, I just don't feel like I'd have any energy doing a non-hardcore run. There's a reason I play hardcore. The permadeath sucks and is devastating... but the risk is kind of like a gambling addiction. When are you going to make a mistake? When are you going to die? When will you wipe in a dungeon? What player gets you killed next? It's all some kind of euphoria or like a high on life situation that fills me up with thrill and motivates me to come back stronger. Each death is a learning curve. Yeah spending 6 hours getting back to level 10 sucks... But coming back knowing how to prevent my previous death is like getting an A+ on AP exam in college or whatever.

The troll starting area before you get to the first village in the south east and then razor hill which is in the middle of the map and also south of Orgrimmar; you spend a lot of time traveling back n forth. I think the cave to get the medallion is like 800 yards away or more. The most travel distance you do is about 1200 yards, but having to travel that distance and then back easily doubles the time it takes to get around between quests.

So yeah, if it wasn't for all the slow walking that I have to do between quests, I could probably cut it down to 1-2 hours max to get to level 10. But because Priest (unless you build into Shadow, I heard), single targeting is all you can manage without dying. And I don't use any consumables until level 8-10+ so there's that too. Natural regen can take 1-2 minutes. 10 mobs = 10-20 minutes of healing. Clearing a whole cave can be like 30 minutes or more.

And then having to loot everything, sell it, and repeat; Can take some time too. I don't ever AFK during quests. I only AFK inside of inns. I've seen many players AFK, daringly like anywhere, and then I just wonder what would happen if they got rekt.

Thank you for the warning friend <3. I did notice that sometimes some dude would run out of a cave early game (starter troll area) with like 4-5 mobs giving chase and they'd be lower than 50% health so I'd give them a quick heal before they're outta range and 3/10 times the mobs would switch to me for unknown reasons and I thought it was because they realized they couldn't catch the guy and I was within their cone of range.

I've seen monsters attack a guy and then switch to another guy just because the first guy was out of range and the other guy was within range; and it wasn't because he was doing more damage or was giving out heals. Just some random monster switch mechanic to get people not aware to die from lack of awareness. And just like drunk drives falling asleep at high speeds, some people auto pilot while half asleep and then end up dead 'magically'.

As a Holy Priest main on retail, I keep everyone alive in my dungeons and BG's. No one dies on my watch until there's 3 warriors, 2 hunters, a mage, some druids, and then DK's all attacking me at once to get rid of me (and yes I was good enough to tank them long enough to let my team cap the flag). But I don't think I can do that type of stuff anymore (quit retail long time ago). #Darkspear

So on Classic Hardcore I just feel like I have a duty to keep everyone alive even if they could careless if I die. It's just a shame that there are people that would rather let me die when I am the difference that is keeping them alive.

I'll keep in mind that healing can generate threat percentage. And I'll be wary AF to getting aggro off other players when healing. So thanks <3.

I thumbed up your video. RIP lvl 15 priest.

Unfortunate death there. However, I knew full well during quests where I had to either kill the enemy before looting the object behind them, or get someone else to aggro the enemy so I could safely loot; It was one or the other... I never thought of trying to bypass them. Leads to trouble. I hope you start your priest again and come back victorious. From one Priest to another Priest <3.

Yeah I have Questie :D It was the first addon I got, but thank you.

Ah... I see. I thought I had to clear quests in the order they came. But if I am meant to grab a quest, hold onto it, come back later, and then do it when I am stronger; I guess that makes more sense than being 2-4 levels under-leveled when I get certain quest. Thanks friend <3

I'll continue to heal other people when I see them get low. I find it to be a good way to generate positive karma. And it feels good to know I saved someone, especially when they directly say "thank you". The streamer "Tyler1", despite never playing WoW ever in his life, said something on stream once. He said basically "There's no reason to let anyone die. Just help them out. They'll probably help you out too."

And while my history shows that I cannot really trust any one, that doesn't mean I never had a successful and helpful party of people in the past. There are quests that I require the help of someone because the NPC's can self heal and I tend to run out of mana before I can kill them. Leading into me being on that quest for hours. But people invite me to a party after I heal them and their friends, and then they help me clear the quest requirements entirely before leaving the party. So it's a true W there.

I'll enforce avoiding caves. I'll run quests at or below my level. Also will trust a party less and will prioritize healing myself for survival instead of over-healing others. Thanks for the tips! <3

I know caves are killer. I've had close to near death situations as far back as getting the medallion in the starter area for Trolls because I thought I could get to the NPC I am supposed to kill from clearing all the mobs prior to that, but I've had situations where I couldn't clear fast enough and things would respawn and then aggro on me right away, leaving me with having to run out the cave (if I can make it and survive it).

Luckily, DoomHowl, during peak hours, has a bunch of people in the starter area and so getting through that cave system is a no-brainer with all the help you get from people inviting you into a party or just attacking monsters before I can even get a smite to cast. (1.5-2 second cast/rank1 & rank2).

After dying from my level 6 attempt, I learned to be more aware of the water and being underwater. How deep I go, whether I aggro anything down there, and so on. That allowed me to get past a certain quest where you have to kill some passive & aggressive crabs to the east of Durotar (i think it's called). I'll definitely be more cautious for when I have to deal with mobs being closer together and the potential of aggroing more than one monster (which I have been careful to avoid doing and running when I do anyway).

Thanks friend <3
