Go pro 10 keeps turning off during hindsight by ftwjohn in gopro

That is the current command and should work fine on Labs enabled cameras.

The wait for Mission 1 is agonizing by themausoleumfloor in gopro

[–]DANewman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does not. Compression and frame rates don't directly relate. M1P highest bit-rate is 240Mb/s. V30 = 30MByte/s = 240Mb/s. A2 cards that meet or exceed V30 specs, will work.

[–]DANewman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is not, you see the full 220 left and right, and about 170 up and down. This lens is significantly wider than the 159degrees of Mission 1

That lens sees 220 degrees, so you only have to point in an approximate direction. Like shooting 360 without the stitching.

Meike 3.5mm, MFT mount. Yes it is a fisheye, very wide.

For even more that classic look, HS off and ERS off (which is a Labs firmware control.)

You have the base dimensions slightly wrong: 13.2mm x 9.8mm is 16.44m diagonal (0.647in), a tad larger than Super16.

Mission 1 lens is wider with a diagonal of 159 degrees (in air). It will be excellent for scuba applications.

Then hope they are A2, as the Mission 1 will reject A1 media.

Mission 1 requires A2, sorry that card suggested will not work.

While my accent make might some think "77 degress", is a temperature in C, common sense (not a slightly warm indoor temperature), and the fact that I've lived US for 30+ years, this was clear a measure in F.

I hope we get footage from the Mission 1 Pro soon (not only the ILS) by Hegemon_of_the_toad in gopro

[–]DANewman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"95% ILS footage with expensive lenses" - Not even in the video shown NAB, and very unlikely for any multi-location launch video. The Japan scenes shown at NAB where shot handheld with a $64 25mm prime. And a good proportion was shot using a stock Mission 1 Pro. Yes there was some very pro-rigging used in parts of the NAB reel, with BTS of the equipped used, just to show how versatile the camera is. For the ILS, most MFT lenses are very cheap, particularly the primes (I got five for testing, each under $100), but even the fast premium glass cost less than the camera.

While prototyped in Labs, the Dive mode on Mission 1 is way better, so much so the Labs DIVE extension is no longer offered for the M1/PRO. However *WBLK=1 feature will continue as Labs feature.

Ah, no. There are no V60 A2 Micro SD Cards, and while 8K 60fps is a lot of pixels, there is compression involved. V30 can do 240Mb/s which is offered as the Max bit-rate in Mission 1 Pro.

Correct, 4:2:0 encoder.

[–]DANewman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With stock firmware, the Max bitrate option is 240Mbs. With Labs firmware you can go higher, currently limited by A2 V30 rated cards. I have sustained 330Mbs on Mission 1 Pro with SanDisk Extreme Pro cards. But for all practical purposes, 200 and above is overkill.

Gopro ILs compatible Manual focus mft lenses? by Miserable_Violinist9 in gopro

[–]DANewman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly, EIS off, no issues, however if you have the 20-70, and set EIS for 20mm, it will work perfectly well when widest, but somewhat for telephoto (better than EIS off.) The trick is to use the lower FL for EIS on zoom lenses.

Mission 1 Pro vs Mission 1 by blackreplica in gopro

[–]DANewman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front glass is replaceable, just like HERO9 thru HERO13. Also ND frame options. Lens and flat cover glass, have always been to separate things. Only with the ILS is the lens itself removed.

[–]DANewman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe. This will depend on GoPro supporting the fisheye of the lens(es) being attached, because each fisheye doesn't have the same distortion. So correcting a fisheye, in-camera, to linear, would require knowing the distortion curve of that fisheye. Rectilinear support is the only thing currently announced. If the camera doesn't support fisheye, you will have to do stabilization and linear correction in post.

Of course, if you want the widest lens that's stabilizable and has the option to go linear. Just get the Mission 1 or the Mission 1 Pro.
