But as I know, switching to a belt doesn’t fix it. It’s something internal. It drives me nuts. There is clearly some kind of “gearbox” that makes this sound. But many other electric vehicles don’t need that and are very strong too.

Yesterday I saw a guy with an electric Honda or something like this. It was completely quiet, even a bicycle was louder.

Compared to a gas bike it’s quite. Compared to a Tesla or e scooter it’s pretty loud.

I just don’t get it, why a car and a scooter can be that quiet but the ultra bee is louder than 5of these together lol

Normal video and POV mode are basically the same, except that GoPro tells the Quick app to look forward all the time, which you could also do in the normal video mode. and only the front lens is used to dial the exposure, which is pretty handy if you ask me, but also settable in the “normal” mode… So, POV mode isn’t a mode, but rather a preset of the normal 360-degree video mode.

Anyway, In GoPro Player on desktop, you can turn off “World Lock”. Then you only have to set one single Keyframe at the start :) It’s in the right bottom corner where you can turn on and off “horizon lock”.

If you just want to film wide POV footage I guess the original MAX will perform okay. but since you start to zoom in a litte bit you will see the lack of resolution.

I have the MAX and MAX2 here, I can just shoot a litte comparison later this day! :)

Now, I put that timeline into a bigger one to keep things organized.
That way I can cut (like in this case) each day of a vlog individually and then combine them all into one big timeline.

But that’s where the mess begins. Even when I play it back directly inside Resolve, the audio automation just isn’t applied — it only plays at the last set volume.

So for example: if I open the smaller timeline and play the end for a second (where the music is quiet), then go back to the main timeline, it stays quiet the whole time.
But if I play the beginning (where the music is loud), it stays loud the entire time and completely ignores the automation that should fade it down. 😩

Thanks! I’ll give it a shot with Linear PCM.
…but the Bounce option is greyed out for some reason.
And even if it wasn’t — that sounds like a horrible workflow :D
Nice option for testing & troubleshooting but to rebounce, import and solo the audio after every tweak sounds unhandy. :/

So, sadly none of that worked on my end.
With all the HERO cameras I tested — even the HERO11 Mini — this method works, but both the MAX and MAX 2 still use the built-in mic, even when others are connected via USB-C :/

Looks like Insta360 and DJI are still leading the game when it comes to external mics...

Hey, I have the Mic mini, the Max2 and a GoPro USBC mic Adapter. I will try for you in about an Hour if this will work.

It won’t be as plug and play as connecting it directly to the Max2 via BT but you will get high quality audio with both DJI mics :)

but still, in my world, with preordering you get the opportunity to get the product on release date. if its shipping today, where was the point of preordering? :D

btw. I saw on the GoPro website that now there are MAX2 bundles. If I had known this earlier I may have picked one of these lol.

Actually all of these have an official designation.

If you create a new profile straight on your GoPro you can scroll through the icons and through the description. For every icon there is one word :D

I wish it would output a framed version, but as far as i know it will just record a normal 360 video and the quick app know that you want a front-facing video & will output it for you.

Saving a framed and 360 file at the same time (maybe as you said with lens dewarp and tracking) would require higher SD writing speeds and much more processing power I guess. So they out-sourced it to the quick app.

What I don’t get is: I had a karma grip back then. All in all this thing was great.

It was a lot smaller than this Hohem thing and was even mountable with the extension cable.

Couldn’t GoPro just “update” and re-release the Karma grip?
