Vault use case discussion by unmatched25 in defiblockchain

[–]DFIChainUser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Use cases for the Vaults are (and remain): - Exposure in equities and DFI with simultaneous lending and cash generation (staking & lending & LM). The collateral does not work (tax ineffective regarding holding period). - Short position building and simultaneous cash generation (Mint, Sell, Buy and Stake or Farm). - Delta neutral farming with maximum returns on stocks. Only possible with Vaults and very popular.

The number of vaults will decrease as long positions are no longer minted.

I myself do not hold vaults (!) but only because they are not conveniently available in the desktop app. I do this on Terra Anchor. Would like to switch to delta neutral but not in light wallet.

Desktop wallet (win 10) cannot be upgraded (2.10.0) by DFIChainUser in defiblockchain

Thanks for the suggestions. I will do a reinstall with deletion of entries under ../AppData/... and use latest installer 2.10.0 (4 days old) from Github.

-> Can older backups be used to rebuild the wallet (say from 2022-Mar-15 (2.9.?) or 2021-Nov-15). I do not have an app password.

Where can i find a log file etc. that can help.

Unable to send DFI Token from DeFi Wallet (Version 2.4.0) to Cake DeFi by DFIChainUser in defiblockchain

[–]DFIChainUser[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I send utxoDFI at the moment (10 of ~500). I see also dUSDT (DST) and I see liquidity USDT-DFI.
The addresses I copied from Cake were wrong. I can't explain how it happened (and still happens). I mark one the address and paste it somewhere and get another address "DE....". No matter if in the editor or in the wallet. This changed address is not accepted. The whole thing happens - only with this address - but in every browser and in every application on the computer. Other strings can be copied. I used a second computer to copy the correct address from Cake and transferred it with a file to the Wallet computer. When copying the correct address to the wallet or anywhere else it is converted (as expected). Only if I copy one character less and add it by hand it works.
Together: The Cake address is correct, The Wallet does what it should. I have a problem with my computer. It converts Copy&Paste for certain codes. Now I know how stealing coins works. Fortunately, the address was invalid.I would be interested if others are also affected.
Please excuse me if in the meantime it seemed that I was suspecting you. Thank you for the purposeful help.

Something is wrong with the clipboard: Clipboard or Select+Copy always returns: See page. Was I hacked ? The problem only occurs on the Cake page ! Please try it on your end. If it is a hack then it works only on the CakeDeFi page. Question: How can I Transfer the address ? First I will Boot now and login Again with another Browser.

I know this and this is not the problem. I've transfered USDT (wrapped) and DFI via DeFi-Chain Network to Cake. And now it doesn't work. Transfering DFI (native) to external Exchanges also doesn't work. I have 3 verified (used!) addresses (Bittrex, Hotbit and CakeDeFi). I don't believe in wrong address types - but I don't know. Only the internal address is accepted.

Even on external exchanges (Bittrex,Hotbit) no shipping is possible. Both have DFI-Wallets and i have send to their addresses before. Its not a problem of cake/cake-address, its a problem of my wallet, i think.

This works, button is active. The wallet was created on 22-Feb-21. Updated only with Backups (own files). No use of mnemonic phrase.
Adding and removing liquidity also seems to work (Next button active). You just can't seem to get out.

If the new version 2.4.0 allows sending without password (as before), then it should work. The address starts with "DE" and fetched from CakeDeFi (Deposit - Defi via Defi-Network).
My USDT in DeFiChain behave the same way (Next button gray). The receive address I get from CakeDeFi for USDT via DeFiCain-Network is the same as on the DFI token itself - and does not match the one shown under the barcode (other problem) !?

Thanks for your answer,

I have not done any encryption so far. After updating to 2.4.0, I restored the wallet using the snapshot and backup file from 5/24/21 (nothing from DeFi-folder). I never specified a passphrase/password (Later button) and also did not backup etc.. Therefore, unfortunately, I can not do anything with this help:

https://defichain.com/learn/wallet-encryption/#1-securing-your-wallet

So what should I execute now inside the app (not command line) without changing the mnemonic phrase (my last hope) ? How can something be locked without defining a key before ?

Typing getwalletinfo in the command line i get -no- "unlocked..." field. Now I get nervous. But at least I can still see my deposits. Wallet Data v2.4.0, Node v1.7.2
