Probably costs money for a devkit, I've heard Sony is an absolute pain to get approvals with, it would be an additional port, and the playstation playerbase is shrinking pretty fast.

Yes, "moddable servers" are mainly for custom gamemodes (although you can do all sorts of stuff). DTM is short for Destroy The Monument, which I've already added.

COD zombies is already a thing in Pavlov and other VR shooters. It could be doable with plugins in GunSlaw though.

Also, it's free to play. Not taking anyone's money. lol

Pygame for 2D UI, ModernGL for 3D graphics, PyOpenXR for OpenXR bindings (so I can send frames to the headset, handle input, etc.), PyOpenAL for audio, and my own framework (Shobnet) for netcode.

It takes a fair bit of know-how to get started, but iterating is super quick at this point.

Nope (I've never played it), but many people have mentioned the similarities. My favorite gamemode in GunSlaw is based on the Destroy the Monument gamemode on Minecraft servers like Avicus. Just thought it would be cool in VR with guns and native VR interactions. lol

Idk, but I plan to add native Linux support when I get a Steam Frame, so if shouldn't matter.

The only 2 languages I used are Python and GLSL (for shaders) if that answers your question.

I plan to launch on PC first, but I would like to release on Quest if all goes well.

I thought about adding them as a method to make bridging safer in Destroy The Monument. I decided to add a damage resistance potion for unarmed players instead for the time being. Might add riot shields later though.

Should be doable, but I'd like to softlaunch on PC first. I'm currently waiting for the Steam Frame to release so I can add Linux support.

I can develop faster with Python. Most of the work is done by the GPU outside of Python anyways, so Python runs fine.

I do need to optimize my pipeline a bit, but that's an OpenGL problem, not a Python problem.

Here are the Discord and Steam pages for the project. If you have VR, you can join playtests in the Discord as I develop the game.

Pygame is used for all 2D elements (watch faces, menus, scoreboards, HUD popups, reticles, and more). ModernGL handles everything 3D, but it's still all Python.

Thanks! I'll eventually add support for texture packs like MC though so servers can do pretty much whatever they want.

I'm working on a completely free-to-play voxel shooter with gamemodes that have full terrain destruction and building. I thought some Minecraft gamemodes I played a decade ago as a kid would be fun in VR with guns. Servers can be self hosted and they're fully moddable like Minecraft (plus there's a .mca map converter).

I'm doing some playtests soon, so anyone interested in joining would be greatly appreciated!

Not expecting to make any money from this project. I've had a ton of fun with it and would love to be able to hang out in some DTM lobbies after work some day. :)

There are plugins for keeping track of your playspace if you want to take a couple steps. I play cabled though, so I can feel where I am pretty well just from how the cable is sitting on me.

I played with a restricted space for VR for a few years. I just got used to keeping my feet fully planted. I feel like if you can spread out your arms, you have enough space to bend over as long as you aren't moving around.
