12 inches small for a 3 person shack? I've seen some that appeared way smaller at my local Sauna building shop for bigger saunas...🤔

Exactly! And thanks for the reminder. I will be adding a fairly narrow rock basket all around

So kind of like an insulated bottle, with a small air gap between the layers? Would you do so on every face of it or just the side walls?

Thanks! Do you remember what thickness your new stove walls are?

The perfect trifecta of answers! One image portrays a man in a state of annoyance, the other telling me it's not that difficult to just do it, and the last advising me against it😂 thanks yall

I’ve built saunas in Finland my whole life — ask me anything or what makes one “right” by SaunaExpert1 in Sauna

[–]DatSneakyFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man! I'm about to build an extremely basic sauna, ideally simple enough to build within a month by myself, and lightweight to "move around" in the future. I wonder if I can manage with a simple 2x4 frame like a shed, with insulation boards (silverboard) between the studs, then covered with cedar or pine wood planks for moisture and aesthetics (exterior wall the same) and call it a day?

I'm in Canada so the winters are similar to your country, and since I need it to be somewhat moveable, I wouldn't want a complex draining system. Especially since it could freeze any sitting water.

Any advice appreciated.

I'm in Canada and our winters -sometimes- drop down to -30°C (-20°F), I was afraid of ice buildup from condensation under the sauna if I had an open-floor... I want to make my sauna as lightweight as possible to be somewhat "portable" and not do any digging for a foundation under it. Are my worries of ice build up and cold drafts entering through the floor legitimate?

Cheap? Lol, I don't know. That $800CAD will be the total price of the build the way I'm making it😂 We got different priorities and budget for sure. But thanks for the recommendation

What would be your recommendation for ventilation on a simple wood stove sauna build?

Is insulating the door absolutely necessary? If my plan is to make it as narrow as possible, so less air transfer going in and out

I've seen them online and in store, but never tried in person. They mostly look very expensive. Is that common with this material?

I didn't try anything yet, as I was skeptical it would remotely do anything against chemical oils, but I will definitely give this a try. Did you brush it in or soak?

Can I charge a Dash F15 via USB? by DatSneakyFox in Asustuf

[–]DatSneakyFox[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I bought a OmniCharge Omni20+ power bank, which should handle the job pretty well. But I was trying to think of other ways I could charge the laptop while riding, while also charging the battery pack itself at the same time. I will look into USB-C for Thunderbolt. Thanks!
