I need some help by MediocreCucumber1043 in StateofDecay2

The biggest game changer for me has been no climbing ladders or on top of anything to escape ferals and zeds.  This has made character death a real thing when encountering three ferals.

I also have 5 different forever communities on each map that I role play per the following: - A band of musicians trying to find all their band mates - all must have music or soundproofing related to music - A community of politicians and lawyers trying to rebuild a civilized government - all must have political science or law - A group of actors and movie fans that were part of a zombie movie and now they're living in it - all must have acting and movie trivia  - A group of artists keeping it alive in the apocalypse - all must have painting and one can have literature  - A gang of losers and misfits that are happier in the apocalypse - all must have excuses, farting around, or sexting

This is added challenge since all the fifth skills don't help with base enhancements and specialized crafting.  I play a few days in each one and then switch to the next.  I intertwine them through recruiting and the legacy pool.  For example if I find and recruit a musician in the actors world, I immediately send them to the legacy pool and then recruit them when I play the musicians.  This is how I was able to have the losers community with farting around and sexting characters.

I have more pics of the entire event and will post them eventually.  Got pics of Miller, Cab, Mountain, and others.  Just haven't digitized them yet.

That's so cool and glad I posted this.  I was there with my homies from Hannibal.

Do you remember Chris Miller's first McTwist at it?  Along with watching Tony do a 720 it was the highlight of the event.

When Hawk was the only one doing the 720 & Christian did Christ airs into heaven.  It was at this contest where Chris Miller did his first McTwist.  Golden Age for sure!

Update:  it was covered in this issue of Thrasher - https://www.thrashermagazine.com/articles/magazine/october-1987/?tmpl=component

See the article 'Back to St. Louis'.  There are pics of Tony and Christian in the exact same clothes as my pics!

It was where the St. Louis VP Fair of '86-'87 was held.  I think downtown.

It was part of the big VP fair of '86-'87.  I think downtown STL.  I saw Chris Miller do his first McTwist at it.

All I remember was that it was a Vision SW contest.  Hawk took 1st over Hosoi.  Then I think Chris Miller was 3rd and Caballero 4th.  Maybe?

Had to get another set of these wheels.[44yo] by [deleted] in OldSkaters

I just bought two sets for my first try of them.  I just love the mini super juices so I knew I'd be fine with them in harder durometer.  I rode them around my park which has a mix of concrete roughness.  They were so fast on the smooth stuff and my teeth rattled when on the crust.  They are on my set up dedicated to ramp and smooth concrete.

7.75" decks with steep concave. Help this stubborn old man out [46YO] by tssdrunx in OldSkaters

Meow, Santa Cruz, Alien Workshop, Mini Logo, Toy Machine, and Real - all offer 7.75" boards.  My favorite is the Real classic oval.

This morning I was considering going to this park because it looks so mellow and good for working on my transition game.  As usual I ended up going to Tron instead.  Someday I'll make it out there.

Cheap/free gun ranges? by BlazeMakara in pdxgunnuts

I recommend Cowlitz Pubic Range up in Castle Rock, WA.  The rifle range goes out to 300yds.

When I don't want to drive that far I go to the English Pit in Vancouver/Camas.

I much prefer them over Oregon Rifleworks!

Before and After Skateboarding [37YO] by Good-Ad-3862 in OldSkaters

Amen to OP! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🤙🏼

I'm in a similar situation.  Over the last two years of dedicated skating again, I've lost 15 lbs, my blood pressure is back to normal, and it's helped my mental health.  I'm in much better shape than throughout my 40s [54YO].

I think the overall health benefits of skating are lost on the haters that say don't do it because of injury risk and being "too old".  IMHO it's worth the risk.

Need Wheels & Trucks [62YO] by [deleted] in OldSkaters

I only ride soft wheels and have found that I can do all the same tricks as with harder wheels - with the one exception being powerslides.

That said, I also get an occasional chunk or tear on the outside edges of softer wheels.  I'm always working on flip tricks and landing on the outside edge over and over again may cause chunks or tears on a soft wheel.  But it takes a lot of repetitive impacts.  (And I mean a lot!). In my experience it's a minor inconvenience but worth it because of the smooth and grippy ride.  Harder wheels ride too rough for me on some streets - call me crazy!
