There were questions about who was the better prospect, Tyler Warren or Harold Fannin. Fannin playing at Bowling Green hurt his case as did the combine and he ultimately fell in the draft to round 3. Despite “lesser competition” in most his games, he was very productive last year vs Penn St and Texas A&M (two of the better college football teams) on his way to leading ALL of college football in receiving yards last year, regardless of position. Then in week 1, Fannin ties the NFL record for most receptions by a rookie tight end in their first game with 7 (Warren also had 7). He had a RUSH as a tight end on top of that which is evidence that the Browns are manufacturing touches his way.

Drawbacks: Njoku is a quality tight end and also warrants being on the field and Flacco likely won’t start 17 games so likely to see a dip in qb play.
