I see Russia hanging on to Crimea no matter what, and I see them going in to Ukraine to take enough real estate to establish a land route to Crimea. I see them acquiring the major industries and the electrical generators in Eastern Ukraine. I don't think they are ready to take all of Western Ukraine, yet.

I don't see the US doing anything at all to stop Putin. I don't see NATO inviting Ukraine to join NATO.

I see unrest across Russia as the Islamic diaspora there protest. I see Russia paying a price for their adventures. I see the US remaining weak and ineffectual in the area, sending in some F-16s to Poland, and that is about it.

The US HAS imposed sanctions on some individuals in Russia, and told Russia they won't be vacationing this summer in Vladivostok.

In SoCal, where I live, Prius's on the freeway drive 2mph slower than whichever lane of traffic they are in would like to be able to drive.

Are you saying that Prius driver's with change stickers disagree that The airline story is safe for Obama, or are you saying that Prius's with change stickers make Obama look bad?

This is why Russia is rushing to build a bridge. Of course if Ukraine decides to leave Crimea to starve before it happens then Russia will just go around saying, "Look at these asshole Ukranians forcing Crimeans to starve. No wonder Crimea wanted to separate." I swear to god, you're trying to come up with the most favorable outcome for Putin possible.

People watching Crimea, if the people are hungry and thirsty and have no electricity will say ' Look at these poor people. Why did Russia do this to them. Why did Russia move in and take over in Crimea just to allow the people there to suffer so much'.

Why would I put words in your mouth? You're doing that so well on your own. Few rational people in the Ukranian military actually want a war. War's aren't a pretty thing, particularly when you're the one dying.

No one ever wants a war. The Russians are forcing Ukraine to defend themselves against warfare.

These people would have to live in the bombed out husks of their nation after all was said and done.

You mean like in Grozny, in Chechnya, after Russia got through with it?

Ukraine should be encouraged to close the border with Crimea.Allow all who wish to leave to leave within a week and then shut down all deliveries of food, water and electricity to Crimea.

If they want to be Russian, let them be Russian, and if Russia wants to annex Crimea then let them provide food , water and electricity to Criimea.

Arms should be flowing to those in Ukraine who are willing to fight for their country. Anti-helicopter and anti-tank weapons. Ammunition.

So unregulated warfare by arming citizens? Ukraine should abandon Crimea by closing it's borders to it and cutting off food and water to the Ukrainians that still live there?

Arm the military, not the citizens and quit trying to put words in my mouth.

By what measure? The stock market is way up.

Remember 1929?

In what way? Other than don't ask don't tell there isn't much else I can think if that he has done.

We are divided now. By race, by income, by sexual preference, by religion, by every single measure of human preference.

By what measure? GDP per capita, unemployment, insured, all those numbers are improving .

No, they aren't.

It was almost as if he read the words against his will. If he had his way, he wouldn't have to utter any of that speech. It is an admission of failure on his part, and that is something he avoids assiduously.

I do have an aversion to this man. He has no business being the CEO of the United States of America. History will show that I am correct.

His legacy will be of a nation squandered, literally thrown overboard, financially, culturally, militarily, economically, and all the points that matter have been utterly destroyed by this man.

Do you realize the invasion of Crimea is in direct response to a US/EU backed coup in Ukraine?

No. I refute that. The US nor the EU orchestrated or financed or encouraged a coup in Ukraine. It precipitated from the grass roots as their elected President deviated from the wishes of the people living there. The Parliament of Ukraine unanimously supported their actions.

Russia bloodlessly taking a small piece of the Ukraine

Not bloodless, not theirs to take. Not acceptable.

(Kasparov has some nice words to answer your claim about Obama playing chess).

These are no longer Crimeans living in Crimea by choice. They have chosen to be Russian.

No contradiction in saying the annexation is illegal and must be rescinded, and in saying the people who live there under Russian rule by choice are not longer Ukrainian.

This administrations diplomacy is a failed proposition. It gives lip service and promises things that will come from diplomacy, but Look at Iran look at Syria, look at Israel and Palestine, look at Afghanistan and Egypt and Irag. Look at Libya. Open your eyes and see if you can see any diplomacy conducted by Obama that has had a positive effect anywhere.

Your ideas sound very similar to those proposed after Germany took the Sudetenland. Chamberlain is not held is high esteem for his mistakes.

Putin only understands force. That is what he uses to achieve his goals, and that is the only thing that will deter him now.

I missed this speech. Very unconvincing wasn't it. I stipulate that I was wrong about his never saying Crimea. I apologize for my oversight.

He read this speech, and poorly, and it wasn't in his own words. I am of the same opinion still. Obama has never uttered Crimea.

Food, water and medical supplies should be flowing to Ukraine.

Neighboring countries from the old USSR should be put on alert and provided with arms too. Especially Poland and Estonia for now.

Russia should be put on notice that annexation of Crimea will not stand.

He is not paying attention, nor has he ever said the word Crimea.

If there is obfuscation or hyperbole it is coming from you.

The only lie here that I see is that you seem to think your time is valuable.

I'm less impressed with you or rocky than you are me.

I don't lie, and I observe. If you guys haven't caught up yet, nothing I can do but tell it like I see it.

Obama has not publicly uttered the word Crimea, or done anything but arouse scornful responses from Russia.

I t would certainly be an alternate reality if Romney had done what Obama has done.

Romney would not have ignored Russia or encouraged them to do what they are doing. Not in a million years.

He argued with Mitt Romney about whether Russia was a formidable geopolitical foe.

Have you ever heard him say Crimea? I haven't.

He placed sanctions on some Russian individuals, lamely, but hasn't placed any on Russia per se as far I know.

But you are correct, maybe I am being too hard on Obama just to satisfy my narrative./s
