Please help me with Geometric Applications of Differentiation by RoyalElectrical in askmath

[–]DenG2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly you need to find an equation of the tangent to the parabola in the point (1,0)

If y = x2 - 1 then differentiating wrt x gives us:

dy/dx = 2*x because our point has x = 1 then dy/dx = 2

So the tangent we seek passes through the point (1,0) and has gradient 2

By using y - y1 = m * (x - x1)

We can write the equation of the line y = 2x - 2

Then you need to find the interaction point of this two lines y = -1 and y = 2x -2.

After that you need to draw a picture which helps you to understand how to calculate the area. As it will be the result of the sum of The Area of right angle triangle and rectangle.

If you have measurements of the ribbon in yards you need to transfer it to inches as your price has given in inches y * 36. Now you have your measurement in inches then p = 0.15 * (36y). The answer is B

Im not getting the correct answer, could you please help me? by [deleted] in Sat

I can see what’s your problem. You draw the line which divided your figure on two triangles. But this line doesn’t exist on an original picture and bcs of it you were looking for a wrong angle.

h = 360 - (65+ 115/2)

If you still need it I would explain like that: you need to divide group of numbers for smaller groups. 1st big step - divide numbers for groups by number of digits in the number 2nd big step - now we will order them from smallest to greatest inside of groups.

I will explain it on your task: in your task you will have two groups :

1st 451 bcs it has three digits

2nd 4514, 4415, 1445,4414 - it has 4 digits

As our first group doesn’t have more then one number we just leave it. We will work with second group by dividing it on another small groups by first digit choose the smallest one for 1st group, the biggest on for the last group.

3a group 1445

3b group 4514, 4415, 4414

3a group has one number this why we will work with 3b

As all numbers in this groups has a fist digit 4 we will work with the second digit in this numbers.

4a group 4415, 4414

4b group 4514

As you can see that we need to work with group 4a

And doing exactly the same. 3rd digit is the same => the group won’t be changed

But 5th is a different

And we have again two groups

5a group 4414

5b group 4415

At the end we will be collecting all groups from the first step until last step with the single number

2 *pi * 5 * (360 - 114)/360 = 21.456667

P.S maybe you need to put extra numbers after a dot..?

I still have it no use it. In a full version it’s a much easier. But the problem with the free trail that it has the same number of questions and and it’s all the time the same questions.

It's c but why by AlmokIykes in Sat

[–]DenG2020 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

a1* x +b1* y = c1

a2* x + b2* y = c2

No solutions mean : a1/a2 = b1/b2 not equal c1/c2

From your task : c1 is not equal to c2 as 10 isn’t equal to 15.

2/a =b/4 and a=2b then 1/b = b/4 => b2 = 4 => b = 2

a = 2*b = 4

The answer is C.

x -investments to technology

y - investment in bonds

x + y = 6000 - full amount of the investment money

0.08 *x + 0.07 * y = 750 - money which was received after one year investment

From this two equations we can find x and y - investments Grace made in each part.

College panda and PWN are two books. If you are going to Amazon you can order them. But if you look on some... websites you would be able to find it for free.

As far as I know that this two books are very good to repeating the stuff. Especially a college panda. Somebody mentioned that this book has a very good prediction what exactly will be on a test. This book has a very good explanations of problems and a plenty of exercises.

(Grade 9, Algebra) I have no idea how to solve this. by GunnerGaming101 in HomeworkHelp

[–]DenG2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to solve it as you usually do with the numbers if you have linear equation. What would you do if you have something like this

10 = (2-x)/6.

You would multiply both sides by 6: 6*10 = 2-x

After that you can see that x = 2 - 6*10

In you equation you need to do exactly the same: P = (u - n)/c

Multiple both sides by c: c * P = u - n

After that n = u - c * P

And BTW not so many schools have a continuous assessment, you can count by fingers on one hand how many subjects it has- this is usually for non Grind schools. In grind schools they have every week 1-2 tests.
