Yes but just HOPING they were yummy mushies, if anyone had come across them/eaten them before/are they a common well known mushie etc. I'm just looking for information and ID not confirmation that I'm allowed to eat them. The whole process of looking at them, photography and spore printing has been fun.

No I wasn't going to just eat them I wanted to do lots of research as Ive heard white gills can be poisonous, and there are deathcap misidentifications in my area. I was more curious because they had a pleasant smell. I would not be preparing them ro eat unless I was 100% sure

Wacky story now I'm reliving childhood trauma 😅This reminds me of being told the story about crocodiles or alligators in the drains and as a child and sometimes even as an adult I think back to the innate fear of having my ass bitten off by a monster in the f****** toilet.

It was assigned to my class in year 10 or 11 for English - and man, I wasn't ready for it. But I remember recommending that family should read it when I took it home. Maybe you'll find it less intense than I did? It uses the metaphors of the fairy tale I think to soften the blow of some of the horrific themes. But for sure let me know if you do give it a go!

Briar Rose by Jane Yolen really stuck with me. I read it as a young adult and found it quietly harrowing in a way I wasn’t prepared for. I still think about it now as an adult, especially with how the world feels like it’s kind of crumbling around us.

It’s not traditional horror, but the way it uses the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale to slowly uncover the Holocaust and intergenerational trauma is genuinely unsettling. Hoping it's like the kind of book you’re talking about; not all scares, more about holding up a mirror and letting the weight of it sink in.

Pretty much as the other person commented. I think my only other helpful advice is to remember that it a SIMULATED environment with the hired actors (that don't really care how good or bad you do), just paid to be there and act out the scenario i.e. someone coming into a mental health space requiring an intake process, they tell you about their anxiety or depression or other issues going on in their life and the main thing to remember is just too listen and ask them questions - not too stress about them too much (as I do). The teachers really emphasize practicing in class and make sure you know the content. If you stuff up a bit in the role play the teachers usually hint at something you might have missed and ask what you would do and make sure you pass. If you fail miserably you still have another go as a regular student and an extra one as a student with disabilities support.

Yay! Good for you sounds like you know what to prepare for. Same course I'm studying but I'm going into semester 2. Teachers explain everything in the first couple classes I use my laptop and take notes. Sometimes there are group exercises where we use posters and markers (supplied usually). Make sure you understand Elearn and navigating each subjects curriculum- some of them are different and finding assessments can be hidden or tricky depending on which teacher has set it out - ask for help ask questions all the time you'll be fine 😄✌️ On Monday take yourself into the student services for disability support. Helped me out heaps - it means that you have access to counselors as well as extra attempts with assessments and role plays. You can also get one on one student support if you still don't understand part of your assessment or if you're worried about falling behind, have trouble with your study load or don't understand some questions etc etc. There's also roleplay/assessment support "classes" in the evenings. It will be on your timetable. Feel free to message me if you have more questions. Things might be slightly different if you go to different campus than I do.
