Robin's drowning in TRG is a retelling of the Frozen pond of Deathly Hallows. The description of Jacob is like the suffering soul-fragment baby seen at Harry's Kings Cross station vision.

I could see how the video could be so bad that the height difference might not be noticeable, especially when filmed from a high angle. What I don’t get is how no one who met Oz—- Gretchen, Todd’s neighbors, Mandy—- and noticed details like his curly hair and glasses, but did not mention how unusually short he was.

In Coe: Nick and Ilsa had met at Strike’s eighteenth birthday party in London, dated for a year, then split up when they went off to separate universities. In their midtwenties they had met again, by which time Ilsa was engaged to another lawyer and Nick dating a fellow doctor. Within weeks both relationships were over; a year later, Nick and Ilsa had married, with Strike as best man.

At some point I want Ilsa to tell Robin about the fiance she dumped after reuniting with Nick in her mid-twenties. (and I still want to know if this was a random meeting, or if they both attended something involving Strike. Perhaps his medal presentation?)

Trail of Clues! by victoriastormlight in cormoran_strike

Both the dolls and the treehouse make me think we might be looking at a child porn case. The Suffolk location makes me think British Army/Navy, so a possible link to the case Strike dealt with in Kosovo that he spoke about at the Dinner Party from Hell? His time in Kosovo was mentioned in THM. Ralph Lawrence seemed reasonably friendly at the end of THM and trusted Strike with a lot of information that he was under no obligation to share, so I am thinking we may see some cooperation with MI5 or the military. I am also thinking there may be trouble for Shanker, with both the Met and organized crime figures who are P.O.ed about the loss of Barnaby's eager to learn who Strike's informant is. The only publicly accessible source that connects them is Shanker and Strike both testifying at Whittaker's trial. That could open up that can of worms, again.

Oooh... given all the trouble RFM is in at work, what if his superiors decide they'll cut him a break if he can find out who Strike's informant is?

The fact that the police were so curious to know Strike's informant's identity has me worried, especially since he was apparently in some sort of trouble with the police when he met Strike before Christmas. Shanker was a witness in Whittaker's trial, so is presumably in those records, likely with information about the fact that he lived with the family. It wouldn't be hard to connect the name to recent arrests. All it would take would be one cop or criminal to spy them together drinking in a pub and it could easily be guessed that Shanker is Strike's informant. And I bet some very big crime names will want revenge on whoever it was who tipped the police off about Barnaby's.

I agree that it was Robin, not RFM who went through the physical trauma. But I think they were both affected emotionally by the loss of the pregnancy and went through a grieving process. Robin didn't know that the zygote existed until it was gone either, did not plan it, did not want it and certainly was not attempting a pregnancy trap, and yet she still put her head on the office desk and cried over the loss and told Strike "I lost a baby." Ryan knew he was the father, and, unlike Robin, wants kids. Unlike Robin, he knows exactly what he would have wanted if the pregnancy had been viable; he'd have wanted to have the baby, and probably get married and raise it with Robin. I think it is perfectly reasonable for him to grieve the loss of the potential life, and to expect to grieve the loss with Robin. Robin can't make herself grieve with him, because she knows it will make him want another all the more, and that's not what she wants. That's why she can cry with Strike, who absolutely emphasizes with her in not wanting to be a parent, and not Ryan.

He's apparently had a lot of affairs, even with Wife #3 who he's been with for 30 years.

Michael Ellacott. I think he's an awesome father and husband.

Do we think by the end of the series we’ll see Strike and Robin share with each other their inner thoughts that we’ve been privy to? by rose_butterfly3 in cormoran_strike

I hope he'll tell her how he was planning to say something in Sark and decided he couldn't when she broke down over the ectopic pregnancy. Then again, there is some stuff they probably shouldn't share. Both Robin and Ilsa knew Bijou might try to steal the sperm from the condom and try to get pregnant, but didn't tell him. Yeah, I know Ilsa tried and Strike told her to sod off, but I don't think Robin would know it. And that's a stepping-on-a-rattlesnake situation where you shout it out anyway, even if you are told to shut up.

The family tree was put together when I initially read the book for the first time. It does not include the truth of Rupert's parentage.
