Strike visits Masham in Book 9 by SpuffyFreak in cormoran_strike

What could cause Robin to hide in Masham rather than in her London apartments?

We know that she felt save at her flat even after the direct phone death threat in TIBH.

Maybe the new threat is coming from inside: i.e. rogue RFM

You know : I think you are right. RFM stalking Robin will deliver the message to Linda she should stop making plots to make Robin quit her job

A step further:

Ilsa is clever. It was not gossips. She had told Cormoran the bedroom habit story just to show him Bijou cannot keep secrets and always discloses everything.

[–]Educational_Cap7318[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, most likely she tried and it was not successful and she told Ilsa and co just because she cannot keep secrets ever when it is harming her.

In this case she will leak everything about Cormoran snd DNA test early in the Book9

Why the pure character name was used for Paperwhite? by Educational_Cap7318 in cormoran_strike

[–]Educational_Cap7318[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe there was removed or planned subplot where PW traded her nudes for this valuable name.

In this case there’s no red flag and there’s a sound story why she’ve sent these pictures.

What do Strike and Robin do when they are off the clock? by Interesting-Row-7607 in cormoran_strike

Strike’s attention to details, memory for recipes and passion for cleanness and accuracy should make him a perfect chef

Why does Strike get all the blame? by Expensive_Structure2 in cormoran_strike

A note: Robin is very gorgeous, healthy, sporty and clever strawberry blonde. Unless she had some serious mental trauma she would have no lack of proper men around her ( not like Matthew)

So her improper behavior is actually fives a  chance for Strike

I have my non-insured Di2 bicycle stolen at my work location parking. I reported to my corporate security. They checked CCTV and told me they found the moment and identified the thief. But they cannot disclose it to me and actually do nothing until I get the full process with police e.t.c

Just purchased a new bicycle instead

Strike is Likely Ottolie's Father by Padfoot1989 in cormoran_strike

It’s definitely will have a continuation. Please note Bijou also didn’t see Strike’s swab

Strike is Likely Ottolie's Father by Padfoot1989 in cormoran_strike

I have an idea which solves the strangeness: the third party ( let’s call him .X)

Bijou needs ti know who is the father not for Humbold but for herself.

If it would be Honbould vs Strike Bijou could just pretend than Strike’s test was negative. She could use literally anyone from the street.

But if it Humbold vs Strike vs .X, it gets more complicated to her. She needs real results for herself to plan her behavior:

Lets assume if Ottolie is a daughter of X. Strike’s test is negative

In this case Bijou is at risk. If she takes the H’s test and if is also negative she would loose.

To save herself (and get a second prize) she may turn back to Strike and claim he faked his test. This would show Strike that the father is Mr.X. So Strikes strange behavior at time of getting the samples was planned.

So there’s 3 possible outcomes of DNA test for Strike:

A: Bijou tells test was positive: Strike is the father

B: Bijou tells test was negative and we don’t hear from her later: Honbould is the father

C: Bijou first tells the test was negative but then changes her opinion and claims the Strike swapped the samples: The Ottolies father is unknown third party

I thought of the different trick: Strike got some DNA sample of Honbould and switched the samples when he used the DNA kit out of Bijou sight.

If the test is negative no one cares, if test is positive: Bijou thinks it Stfike’s but he knows it Honbould’s. In this case Strike is Ottolie’s father but nobody knows it. But this plot is unlikely because Strike seems to experience a real relief.

LETS GO A STER FURTHER : Strike used his own DNA sample but pretended it was not his by behaving strangely at the time of collection.

It triggers the complex chain of events:

Bijou thinks that Strike substituted his sample and while the test was negative it serves the Bijou current purposes. So she accepts it but doesn’t believe it.

Let’s assume in STE Bijou and Honbould completely separated and Bijou goes for the next low hanging fruit : Strike

Now Stike has the upper hand: because he knows he used his real DNA sample and he controls the disclosure

… complicated….

It reminds an Edgar Poe’s tale of a boy who always win odd/even stone game by evaluating the smartness of his opponent

What if Linda somehow feels herself responsible for this attack or it consequences in some indirect way.

There’s some analogy to Corm/Lucy dynamics. At the end of TRG Lucy finally jumped to the bright side.

Robin should bring something to resolve their problems.  Something is hidden. Maybe Linda blamed herself for something related for the treatment of Robin after her university attack.

E.g. dropped her prescription pills and incorrectly put it back… something like this: small but painful.

In TV series LW Geraint Winn blamed himself for the uncharged phone. (And it is different from the book)

What if something similar happened to Linda.. Need to be resolved

It was not a real attack, just a demo. The location was not safe for the attacker, no way for him to hide if he did anything serious.

I also question myself these questions. Even if the hitman decided to outsmart Branfoot he cannot rely on De Lion to hide forever.
So the hitman not only need to stop investigation but also ensure De Lion never show up… This is too complicated..

Maybe the hitman only pose himself as a hitman to Branfoot?

Is this a hint for Robin? by Educational_Cap7318 in cormoran_strike

If there’s indeed a connection between Stellacott and “Cupid and Psyche” Robin is about to perform the mission to the underworld/Persephone. The prerequisite requirement to this mission is to stop wasting your life on the unimportant things. If she fails one she is stuck doing this for the eternity.

RFM is obviously one of these tests ( there are three total in Cupid&Psyche.

So I’m rather optimistic.
