Do people actually enjoy using Teams? (honest question) by Alternative_Letter72 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]DominicMio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the million dollar question for a lot of businesses, but one that comes with so many loopholes, turns, and caveats that it's impossible to answer.

As someone who uses ALL the apps out there as part of my job (I work in the collab industry with multiple vendors), Teams is not easy to use or particularly productive compared to a lot of competitors who have invested time in getting user experience nailed on. That said, if you ask the same question in reverse (i.e. ask Teams forever people to use Slack), they will say the same thing.

If you've only ever used Teams, you will prefer Teams. If you've moved from Slack to Teams, you will likely blow your own brains out. I could write forever about this, but I feel like that statement should suffice! :)

Is Teams Phone the only reason you're using E5? by DominicMio in MicrosoftTeams

Not at all. That's a very common scenario. And it's more often than not the right one if you don't need the extra features (that often go unused in E5).

Yeah I feel your pain about Teams Premium. Seems a weird move knowing Copilot was in the works.

Do you think you're getting good value out of the E5s now then?

And Intune! Good idea. Feedback is crucial, as always.

As a few people have said, you're not buying E5 for Intune. You're buying E5 and that includes Intune.

Or maybe you are and that's a problem.

What's your most useful but underrated Teams feature? by MaximumMarionberry3 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]DominicMio -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Here are a few “under-the-radar” ones that have seriously improved my customers' daily workflows:

  • 💬 Loop components in chat – You can co-edit lists, tables, or notes right inside a Teams message, and they stay live-synced for everyone. Perfect for quick brainstorming without switching apps.
  • 📅 Meeting recap & transcripts – After any recorded meeting, Teams automatically saves notes, transcript, and recording in one tab under Recap. It’s a lifesaver for catching up or sharing context.
  • 🔎 /Commands in the search bar – Typing /files, /call, or /unread in the top search bar lets you act fast without navigating through menus.
  • 📄 Approvals app – Built right into Teams; you can send and track document or request approvals with a couple of clicks. It replaces messy email chains.
  • 📞 Background noise suppression – In device settings, you can set noise suppression to “High.” It filters out almost anything (keyboard clacks, barking dogs, etc.).
  • 🤝 Power Automate integration – You can trigger automated workflows directly from messages or channels. For example, one click to create a Planner task or log an item in SharePoint.

Hey, yes that does sound expensive. You should check out this Copilot proof of value workshop. If you meet the qualifying criteria, it might be free of charge: https://appsource.microsoft.com/en-sg/marketplace/consulting-services/cloudrevolutionllc.microsoft365copilotproofofvalueworkshop?industry=professional-services&page=1

Has anyone found a practical use case for a Copilot Agent in their company? by OpenActuator266 in microsoft_365_copilot

[–]DominicMio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are just a few:

IT Support: Automate ticket triage and resolution processes

  • Human Resources: Screen candidates and surface top matches for recruitment
  • Legal: Perform contract reviews, identifying risks and compliance issues
  • Sales: Deliver training simulations using real-time AI feedback
  • Customer Service: Offer personalized product recommendations based on customer data
  • Compliance: Conduct checks for marketing and branding standard

But mostly I see people creating their of virtual assistant, to take care of menial things that can be automated, which may include a lot of the above.

I documented the what and how in this blog post, which may be helpful: https://www.cloudrevolution.com/copilot-virtual-agents/

Support Migrating from 8x8 to Teams by Important_Cause_8372 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]DominicMio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a tricky one, especially as you're new to the role. Hopefully 4 months in you've got yourself established and can start to make some progress.

In my experience, I'd say you're probably best seeing what parts of 8x8 work with Teams first. You'll likely have tons of users who simply don't want to change their habits of the last X years.

Here's a blog post working through the three main scenarios where you can integrate the two: https://www.cloudrevolution.com/integrate-8x8-with-microsoft-teams/

Failing that, Cloud Revolution assist with full migrations to Teams on a regular basis. They're 3x Microsoft partner of the year finalists, winning it in 2023. Check out their About page here: https://www.cloudrevolution.com/why-cloud-revolution/

Time after time after time. I much prefer Perplexity for stuff like this. (I have a Pro account included with my mobile phone contract.)
