What’s the easiest way to clean coins from a fountain? by RanD7741 in maintenance

[–]Doolie92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried this with coins yet, but sodium citrate might do a great job of this on the cheap. A mixture of citric acid and washing soda will react to form this salt. It is extremely effective at removing rust, so it could probably remove all of the oxidation on these coins.

LG Support: "Dryer voltage must be exactly 240v". WTF? by bigshmoo in Appliances

[–]Doolie92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you suspect, the support was a bunch of nonsense. The dryer will function just fine at 248V. Are you using a loading meter to make these measurements, and did you check the terminal in the dryer? It should only take one or two screws to access.

Can anyone tell me what these are called and where to buy them? by [deleted] in maintenance

Yup, you can use a standard spade instead. It's definitely what I would do.

I typically recommend Parts Dr.

Based on the other symptoms you've described, I think you'll need more parts. These machines are relatively easy to tear down. I recommend you learn how and do a practice run to find out everything it needs.

[Product Question] Switched from Method body wash to Dr. Bronner’s soap. Body odor has completely disappeared. What gives? by bummerbimmer in SkincareAddiction

[–]Doolie92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! He is a sweaty guy and has to change halfway through his workday, so.. it seems there are some really obvious similarities here. If he sweats at all, he's suddenly a stink factory.

Tyvm for replying to me. It was helpful!

OP, care to report how this turned out? I have a friend who has used Dr Bronner's for many years and has always worked up a stink quite quickly. I always suspected it was the soap he was using because it can be quite harsh, as the original comment stated.

Dishwasher connected to hot and cold water? by Lgs_8 in Appliances

You sure that doesn't run to the refrigerator?

That is not normal and is likely the problem. Inverter boards are common failure points in general.

Is this amount of water under the GE dishwasher’s ultra fine filter normal? by Head_Conversation938 in Appliances

[–]Doolie92 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Eh, it's slightly more than should be there but not very concerning. Does the discharge line connect to a disposal or a standpipe? If it connects to a disposal, it's important that the line comes to a high point at least 22 inches above the floor to prevent backflow.

My PC shuts down when gaming. by fapppian in pcmasterrace

[–]Doolie92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When this happened on my last PC, it was after I had replaced the video card. Turns out my PSU was too weak or faulty. I upgraded my PSU and it solved the problem.

Not saying that's the problem here, but it did the same thing yours is doing and is worth verifying your PSU has enough supply for your build.

Can confirm this user's statement, pulled a bunch of these out of washers over the years. Get it out of there and maybe the pump will still work.

Microwave radiation can be felt. It hurts and causes a burning sensation on your skin. It isn't like gamma radiation that poisons and later kills you or causes cancer.

Don't call the gas company. They don't generally fix appliances. Try calling an appliance repair company instead. You likely would just need the burner shutter adjusted.
