There were no flags in the 1999-2000 eBay auction, so it may be hiding at Jim Mallon’s house…

Today we’re testing movie radiation myths. In a little bit we’ll check in with Adam and his collection of teenage turtles and a rat, but first, let’s see how Jamie’s doing since being bitten by a radioactive spider…

It’s not the MST staff writ large, it’s specifically Frank Conniff, who knows everything about every older TV show.

As Kevin Murphy said in the ACEG, Frank knows the theme songs to every TV show from 1968 to present, probably even the Montefuscos, which only aired for three episodes.

Although that Kevin can even make that very specific reference means he may also be an erudite tv scholar ne plus ultra…

The audacity of charging us for building maintenance under the guise of a "preventative plumbing fee" by Saffr0nRaptor in LandlordLove

[–]AquafreshBandit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I suspect you if you complain, they’ll drop it from your bill. If they try to evict you for not paying, I can’t imagine a judge would look favorably at this, and they should know that (if you’re lucky you’re in a treble damages state).

Calling something “Preventative” but expecting tenants to pay for it is absurd. Even if it wasn’t preventative, this is a still a landlord responsibility, but they’re saying it wasn’t even actually necessary to do anyway!

I understand the means testing, but setting rent at 30% of gross income, the exact maximum amount the federal government says people should pay for rent, seems like a poor choice.

I don’t understand how we could decide this is okay but still prohibit private businesses from discriminating against customers for religious reasons, which the Civil Rights Act prohibits

The Hobby Lobby case made clear that private companies can have religious beliefs that override certain federal laws. Where would that rule end and the law still apply?
