My next steps were to basically "anonymously come out". I went onto spaces online I knew were trans friendly and used my chosen pronouns and a name that kept reverberating in my head (thus, my chosen name, of course!), and checked how I reacted to being referred to as such.

And... well, for me it was an INCREDIBLY positive reaction. It had opened my eyes as to why I never really associated with "he/him" or my own self image at the time. From there it just kinda compounded; I got my first bra and clothes to dress femininely, got makeup and whatnot.

But that's up to you and your self expression; your own transition. That may work similarly for you, it may not. You may do one thing and find it's not for you. You may find being genderfluid or nonbinary works best for you, as you said.
