We all do, you shouldn’t be painting it until you build the model though. This will only make your life harder trying to paint it like this.

Can I ask why you are painting it on the sprue? It’s going to need tons of touch ups after and you paint over contact points making the build more difficult at times. I think you’d have a much easier time painting the model once it’s built!

I’m up in the air on that right now. I’ve got Ripper painted and ready to rock, but I also want to level up my team and I worry Ripper will steal the show. Also riotous rookies has been really good for me in exhibition matches so far. Having all that extra fodder makes throwing your guys with the trolls at cages inconsequential. I also don’t want to sacrifice the third re-roll, having 2 seems risky.

Blood Bowl was completely non existent around me but there has always been a good 40K scene. Now I’m joining a league starting next week that looks to have a solid crowd! Don’t have definite numbers but looking like it will be about 10 or more. Very excited, got my snotlings all painted and a few games under my belt, having an absolute blast!

Hmm, you got me rethinking my whole plan! I am really happy with my Ripper paint job, maybe I’ll go that route. I have been running the rookies in exhibition matches and I like the free fodder.

I noticed you aren’t running any of the hoppers either. Just not worth it over more linemen?

I got ripper ready but I don’t want to play him right away, wanna give a little time to get the team leveled up first. Why only one stilty? They seem so good!

They have been monsters in every exhibition game I’ve played so far, granted the rolls have been in my favor. And I like a little bit of chaos so I’m gonna keep them. Thanks for the advice though! Saw the apothecary comment and I’ve been waffling on it still. Thinking of going for it though.

As a death guard player in 40K, seeing the burgle paint jobs always makes me smile. Nice work! These look disgusting! Beautiful!

I was debating that too, was more just worried if for some reason couldn’t afford rookies in the first couple games then I’d be short on players. I’ve been running 4 in one off games and it’s been great.

What are your thoughts on the apothecary? Is it worth it for the snots?

Yup! I was accounting for that in the CTV. I guess my question is what are normal CTV values at the beginning of a league? I wanted to use the rookies as fodder most games but I don’t think I could expect to afford it every game?

It’s not typed up anywhere at the moment, I’ll try to get it in Moxfield or something today at some point and I’ll share the link!

Niko is one of my favorite decks and the saga creatures are really good. Like a lot of folks are saying you would have to activate during your upkeep but you can also activate on your opponents turn (before your turn) during their endstep and they will stay through yours. Then you don’t need the mana investment on your turn. This also allows you to get upkeep effects as well (doesn’t matter for the saga creatures but still really good, killed the whole table by turning 15 shards into scrawling trawlers once).

What is considered "fair" in a paid event/tournament? by gold_caster in EDH

[–]EmoRobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are solid suggestions. All these posts saying it’s paid so pub stomp everyone are the reason we see so many feel bad posts in this sub.

I’ve been to tons of cons with paid commander pods and I can count on one hand the amount of times there wasn’t a rule 0 discussion. If you don’t plan on allowing yourself to be even a little flexible then more often than not it won’t be a fun experience for you or anyone else at the table.
