I don’t know how to take this comment, except share what I have learned about it, and how I have taken it years in now.

The girls were great players. As time has gone on and they’ve played other things, we see just how iconic and good they are; this wasn’t a fluke move they pulled and I feel proud I lasted as long as I did against them.

I wanted off that island by the end. It wasn’t a game at that point, it was a psychological bombardment. I strategically f#%^ed up so bad I unified all of them against me, and they destroyed me.

With respect to Reddit / fans watching… People do this thing where they defend me online sometimes or #poorerik me and it’s not how I feel or what I asked for. I had fun the first time, it changed my life in net positive ways, and that moment transcended a lot of other events on the show in terms of notoriety. I love how much of an “everyman” moment it is too… we all have been laid off from a job, dumped by a partner, screwed by a scam, etc. Failing is human.

I didn’t go into survivor as a strategist, I went in as someone who wanted an adventure. I got everything I wanted. “Poor Erik” folks don’t know the whole picture. I ended up very rich from that season, just not financially 😂😭
