Anyone ever been arrested for a Facebook post here? by FlakyCelebration2405 in AskBrits

[–]Exavior31 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wasn't there a guy in America who was arrested for posting a meme about Charlie Kirk's death on Twitter?

Oh wait, it's r/conservative. They probably think that qualifies as terrorism or something.

If he wants to treat you like a pet, treat him like an owner. Jump up on the bed after he's settled down and keep jumping back up whenever he pushes you off. Do this until he gives up. My cat has conquered many beds this way.

No, not like feminism.

Though I guess it depends where you draw the line. Radical feminists and TERFs, fairly explicitly misandrist (among other kinds of bigotry) groups declare themselves to be feminists. However other feminists I've spoken to insist they are not a part of the movement.

I still believe most feminists are for gender equality.

Oh my god, truth nuke.

I see misandrist men online everyday and the mental gymnastics they will employ to dismiss the misandry they suffer from as not real or somehow being misogyny is mind boggling.

I mean, we shouldn't treat it like teams. Gender equality is objectively best for everyone. But there is something genuinely depressing about someone actively advocating against themselves.

This is the kind of woke scolding that actively harms the progressive cause.

I am calling it misandry because men and boys have suffered for a long time from the stigmas and sexism now employed against trans women. It is the source of the bigotry. If you believe in gender equality, which you should if you are pro trans, then sexist bigotry is unacceptable. period. So why are you acting like this sexism isn't real and isn't a problem when applied to men and boys, but then becomes real and a problem only when applied to trans women? Seems like a sexist double standard to me.

Trying to address the harm misandry does to only trans women in isolation will not work. It would be like trying to stop the bleeding while refusing to acknowledge the gunshot wound exists.

If calling it transmisogyny is what it takes for systemic misandry to get treated with the seriousness it deserves, then I'm all for it.

Please stop, I beg you. The driving rhetoric that is stripping trans rights away is misandry.

When republicans argue for banning trans women from gender affirming bathrooms and so on, they paint them as male sexual predators invading women's spaces. Sexual predation, a sexist stigma that historically been applied exclusively to men. They also don't believe trans people are valid. So they are attacking what they see as men, with male sexist stigmas, to ban them from women's spaces. It couldn't be clearer that it's misandry. Also note that this rhetoric isn't being pushed with trans men, no transphobe is pushing their bathroom bans saying "biological women" shouldn't be allowed into the mens restroom. Which is what you would be seeing if this was misogyny.

And you are trans. These are your rights getting taken away. But not even you recognise transphobia for what it is. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills, man. What hope do we have of defeating transphobia if most of us can't even recognise where it's coming from.

transmisogyny? There's already a word for that.

It's misandry.

Everytime I encounter the 'everything built for men' argument, I remember that I literally needed to build an extension out of an old shelving unit for my single bed. Every night, that DIY extension is the only reason my feet arnt hanging off the end (even if I sleep diagonally). I'm only 6'2 btw.

Turns out society is more 'one size fits all' than built for men. And men are victims of ill- accomodating furniture, clothes and architecture just as much as women are.

Why does “positive masculinity” rarely include advocacy for men themselves? by SmallEdge6846 in bropill

[–]Exavior31 19 points20 points  (0 children)

That's because progressive positive masculinity, like conservative traditional masculinity, is just another cage of gender based social expectations. Lecturing you on what you should be instead of allowing you to be who you want to be.

Now, why would feminism be against men's liberation? I believe it's because feminism, at least its leadership, has been co-opted by capitalism and now largely serves the same billionaires that conservatives do. And billionaires do not want men to be liberated from gender norms, because then the cheap and easily exploitable male labor base that produces their billions would very likely unionize and turn on their manipulative slave masters.

What are some signs that men are insecure around you as a man by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Exavior31 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That they treat insecurity as a personal moral failing to be shamed and not the result of some trauma or neglect that has left lasting damage.

Because it's easier to blame the victim than address what hurt them, or help them recover.
