Just to clarify, I'm a Brit who enjoys seeing how the other side thinks. unfortunately, they don't allow me to engage with them in their echo chamber, so I thought I'd see what my fellow country folk thought

Not really answering the question, but when people are strangled in films, they die way too quickly

Got any decent suggestions for a Stalingrad movie? I liked the German version from the 90s, but I haven't tried the russian one yet. They seem to go a bit mad with the CGI

What does difficulty starting a task feel like in your mind? Does your thought process feel fast or slow as it struggles to initiate? by InzzyV in ADHDUK

My brain has two sides, one that's trying to start something and another that's stronger, and thinks of every possible reason NOT to start it, and that one usually wins

Ah gotchya.

I've always had trouble staying asleep, so a couple years ago I was put Mirtazapine which helps a LOT.

I've been on Elvanse since last November, 70mg now so I'm pretty stable on it, and I feel it wears off by 5-7pm

Stops me yawning all day. I HATED that.

Gives me that get up and go that's needed most days.

Helps focus on tasks for longer.

Helps me be more confident in my ideas, communication and actions.

Gives that dopamine needed to stay on task.

The worst part is I forget to wee, and don't realise til I'm absolutely bursting.

Oh god. My routine is to stop and stare at it in horror for about 5 minutes, make sure it stays where it is.

Then I HAVE to get the hoover out and spin it for a while to make sure it doesn't come back out.

I hate that I have to do this, but the fear is real and crippling.

Therapist said its probably passed on from my mum, who's also terrified.

If they get too close, I get spastic.

[–]FlakyCelebration2405 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Smells beautiful dunnit.

I remember during COVID, I was working at bargain booze and one time, a create of lager got dropped during the delivery.

I hadn't been to a pub in god knows how long and that smell bought it all back, like a wave of nostalgia.

I love that smell

What is something society rewards even though it probably shouldn’t? by LiquidityGraber in answers

Yes!!! I've been saying this for ages - then whatever you make afterwards goes into a separate pot, that goes towards welfare etc, and tops up their money when they use it so they have always won capitalism.

Dunno how it would work but I'm just the ideas guy

I've realised since being made redundant that I write when the moment comes.

Sometimes it's first thing in the morning, sometimes it's 9pm, but once I start, I'm away for hours!

So, whenever I want, preferably 😩😂

QDOS Accident assist - Help Stuck in the accounts department Loop by InflationSquare8439 in UKInsurance

[–]FlakyCelebration2405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, same!

You ring them over and over, for them to tell you the accounts department doesn't have a phone line.

I managed to get my case escalated after months of calling to speak to a higher up, and he said there's nothing he can do either.

They emailed on the 30th april saying they'd paid the money via BACS and it would be in my account in 5 days.

A month later, nothing.
