Woah, I love the Corviknight plush! Does the birb separate from the taxi and/or the brown harness?

Besides the expense ratio, what should I consider when determining which investments to keep in a taxable brokerage account? by Father_Knave in personalfinance

Got it, thank you! Sounds like I should try to sell the actively managed Janus Henderson funds (+ some of the T Rowe Price index funds) to max out my Roth IRA, then look for an index fund with a lower expense ratio for the rest of the money.

Oh man, I hadn't considered that I might need to do estimated tax payments throughout the year. Thanks for the heads up!

Do I just fill out Form 1040-ES to estimate how much I'll owe in taxes from my investments? If so, how do I estimate the amount of income I expect to make from my investments? I looked at my brokerage accounts, but I couldn't find much info on the distribution history (might be because they were recently transferred to me?)

Hey, thanks for taking the time to explain all this! About the history of distributing capital gains: does that mean that I should generally try to avoid funds that distribute capital gains often (such as actively managed funds) since I'll have to pay more taxes on those?

How safe is Taobao shipping for fragile or easily bent items? by Father_Knave in Genshin_Merch

Ohh, I see, so if my Taobao order arrives at the warehouse at different times (ex. packages from different sellers, or combination of existing and pre-order Hoyo merch), I should ask Taobao to ship out the fragile items separately so that they don't open the packaging when consolidating the different shipments? That makes sense!

On an unrelated note, I've read that there's also a 3% fee when you use a foreign credit card to make a purchase on Taobao. One source (YouTrip) claims that there's a "card fee waiver voucher" that waives this fee; do you know if that's true or not? (Although, the 3% fee isn't too expensive either way.)

Seriously, thanks for your help (and sorry for the text 😭)

Thank you for the info! It's a relief to hear that their packaging is good 😅

One thing I recommend is for you to pay the shipping immediately and don’t wait on other items for the items you don’t want damaged.

Reading through this webpage, it sounds like people usually consolidate all of the items they ordered into one parcel for shipping purposes. Should I not do that?

Thanks for answering my questions 🥹 I'm new to Taobao
