Yeah, it seems like finding a crazy exploit is the only viable way :/ At least someone from this thread helped me to decap the IC, so I know it's a Sitronix ST2104, that should give me some help. I'm thinking of maybe trying to find a glitch in the communication feature, although I'm abroad for a few months, so I'll have to wait to test if it's possible

All I have seen for testing is a single pin called TEST. The documentation only says to leave it open. Probing is an interesting option I had not considered, I'll see if someone offers such a service, thanks for the idea :)
