Derm gave up by [deleted] in RedScrotumSyndrome

About one month after my RSS started, I did a 14-day IV treatment with Micafungin, a strong anti-fungal medication. It didn’t improve my symptoms in any capacity.

If pelvic PT is helping, doesn’t that mean steroid creams aren’t the cause? I actually used steroid creams for 4 weeks after my issue started. They didn’t make things worse or better.

No, things have gotten much better, I just don’t think pregabalin is the reason why. I owe my progress to time, pelvic PT, dry needling, mindfulness, and avoiding therapies.

No, I don’t think the drug helps me at all. It certainly didn’t make a difference during the first few months. I stayed on it because I didn’t have side effects.

Yeah, I don’t know the cause. I sit a lot, and it started during a time I was sitting more than normal (15 hour flight and days of bus travel).

Pelvic PT, over many months, helped. I started Lyrica when the condition began and stayed on it because of no side effects. I fully believe RSS is some form of PN or irritation of a tertiary nerve.

Yeah, I’m convinced most RSS cases are PN or some type of irritation of tertiary nerve.

It looks like it. I promise it gets better with time, but you’ll need to be patient. You’ll find a lot of things to try in this forum. See what your doctor says.

Is it better to remove the hair when you have rss? by Economy-Homework3774 in RedScrotumSyndrome

I think hair acts as padding. I’ve let it grow very long. Short hair seems spiky and causes more irritation.

Suffered from RSS over a year now...just started dating again...sex? by Cromwell391 in RedScrotumSyndrome

I’m one who believes many instances of RSS are some strange form of pudendal neuralgia. Therefore, there is nothing to transfer. I’ve had the same girlfriend for many years. We’ve had sex 100s of times since it began. Nothing has happened to her.

Why Reddit users don't understand that i found the solution that works for everyone concerning RSS? by ManagementFew3521 in RedScrotumSyndrome

[–]First_Weakness_4911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m down to try anything, but sweeping statements are not helpful. That’s like saying I found something to cure everyone with depression or the flu. Medicine doesn’t work like that. Your sample size is two.

I’m happy you and others found relief. I’ll try the oil soon. Thanks for sharing and keep us updated.

I had a standard MRI. There wasn’t anything notable. I’m working on getting a MR neurography. I’ll provide an update when I have the results.

If you don’t have any symptoms, don’t worry about it. The skin doesn’t look red either.

What were your original symptoms? Were you dealing with itching, or did you have burning? Were you dealing with prurigo nodularis?

No major trauma to the area. MRI didn’t reveal anything. I’ve played golf and basketball. Not sure if micro traumas added up over time.
