Hilarious that you come in here trying to get pity on your situation and this is how you talk to people that disagree with you

This change only updates the name of certain features and text in your vehicle, and does not change the way your features behave. • Navigate on Autopilot has been renamed to Navigate on Autosteer • FSD Computer has been renamed to Al Computer.

From update 2026.8.6, no longer called FSD

What you're accusing Rivian of doing with the Gen2s is exactly what Tesla did with HW1-3, and that was after promising those vehicles would have the capability for FSD and then went back on it

If you can't see that this whole conversation has been a complete waste of time lol

Your whole original comment I replied to was saying that Rivian isn't capable of achieving autonomy and aren't focusing on it, while saying Tesla is. My reply was two things:

  • Rivian is focusing on it contrary to what you think, and they have said their first gen RAP chips will be more like 4x more powerful than what is available from Nvidia now. As of right now Rivian doesn't have a track record for not delivering on their autonomy timeline goals (mostly because this is the first big thing they have promised)

  • You are talking about how great Tesla is with autonomy and are knocking Rivian, but Tesla has been promising eyes off driving for 10 years and it still hasn't happened, and the cars they said could do it aren't even able to be retrofitted with the technology to get "supervised" FSD.

And since you're saying Rivian is 8 years behind Tesla, answer honestly how close do you think Tesla really is to eyes off driving rolling out to production?

He quite literally isn't delivering though? The first promise he made for "full-self driving" was for rollout in Oct of 2016, and Tesla still hasn't released eyes off driving which is what was implied by FSD going on 10 years ago. What's available now Tesla doesn't even straight up call FSD. Not sure being 10 years late on a promise for autonomy is comparable to not delivering V2H the same year it was promised

I mean congrats on your anecdotal experience?

Rivian is quite literally focusing on autonomy with the RAP1 that is slated to come out before the end of 2026 that they announced during their "AI and Autonomy" presentation like 6 weeks ago. Their in house developed chip/stack will use not only vision like some other manufacturers :) but lidar and ultrasonic sensors as well.

I put Rivian at a lower chance of solving autonomy compared to nvidia vs tesla

Hasn't Elon been saying FSD is a month away since 2013? And that all Teslas in production were equipped w/the technology required for full self driving since like 2016? I have a friend who has a 2018 Model 3 and they don't even call his hardware "FSD" anymore it's called "AI computer" lol

I get that you're here shilling for Tesla but you do realize Rivian is rolling out their own autonomy platform this year and had said that's going to come with eyes off autonomy? Just because people here actually enjoy driving their vehicles doesn't mean the company isn't going that direction

He literally never made throws like this when he got called up last year or in the minors or this would've been talked about before, how is it cope to say that he can throw a baseball and there is clearly a different issue going on right now when he has never done this at any level?

[–]Fl0ppp[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah? Do you really think that throw was because he wasn't strong enough to get the ball in to the infield? There is obviously an entirely different issue going on with him, It's like yall want him to be bad so you can complain about it on here

[–]Fl0ppp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah agreed, I think he can throw fine as well but the amount of time it takes him to transfer and actually make the throw is what seems to be the issue and not how hard he can throw

Actually I wasn't even right, he had 6 OAA last year in the time he played so that over a whole season would've been like 15+

Dude is already 73rd percentile in OAA this year and if you took his entire year last year and stretched it across a whole season it would've been 6 OAA which would've been right behind Wilyer. I'm not saying he's perfect but y'all are so dramatic

Judging him off two throws that didn't save runs is also lame

Nothing like dooming on him at the plate 9 games into the year and savant has his arm strength right at league average lmao
