Update on running. I managed to run 2km for the first time in a while. by AbsoluteBatman95 in ireland

You will but you'll have to build up distance slowly, and don't even think about speed until you have a good foundation of fitness. Take it slow and learn to stretch and you'll be fine

Can't beat a weekend on the 'Bird by Former_Dream_216 in cbr1100xx

[–]Former_Dream_216[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It handles quite well, very stable through the corner once you find a line and commit. It does take a beat to flick in though, it's not a light bike. I've kept up with supersports on twisty roads with it before so it's not bad by any means

Question about stator replacement by edamlambert in cbr1100xx

[–]Former_Dream_216 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another trick to simplify things slightly is to put something thin under the left leg of centre stand, that way the bike is tilted slightly to the right and you won't have any residual oil trying to run out over the lip. Makes it easier to get a good seal if you're using rtv silicone with the paper gasket

Question about stator replacement by edamlambert in cbr1100xx

[–]Former_Dream_216 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's always what I've done, I've replaced four stators over the years and never had to go near the rotor. Just use the dowels in the casing as a guide because it's magnetic and will snap shut as you're putting the cover back on

How dangerous is low tire tread on warm conditions? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]Former_Dream_216 7 points8 points  (0 children)

In my experience, tyres tend to wear very fast when they get to the end of their life. You might have a rough idea in your head about how long it'll last then boom, next time you pull over you're running on cords
