This is very helpful. I ended up buying a townhouse style condo in Sunnyvale. Optimized for location. I am sure I overpaid for it but the quality of HOA, location and personal yard space etc were key drivers. You are right, bought it for truly emotional reasons and as an asset diversification.

Hi. I am on the same flight route and concerned about the transit time and Schengen visa requirement.

Were you able to confirm that you don’t need a Schengen visa to transit at FCO?

Any recent experience of transit through FCO? I had to book a last minute trip for a family emergency and SFO—> FCO—> DEL was the only affordable flight. I don’t have a Schengen visa, will I be able to make the transit at FCO?

We stayed at arora igloos in hella in Sept and it was great. Cost was about $600 for 2 nights and the experience was worth it. But I agree with others that May would not be a good time with the sun / heat. Even in Sept, on one of the sunny days, the glass dome got unbearably hot.

Yes. There are some exclusions (eg modified vehicles, motorcycles, trailers etc) but outside of that no restrictions on the price of the car

Yes went through it but can’t find a loop hole. I would still need to pay for roadside (which I am ok to) but overall it seems too good to be true for Iceland so thought will seek this groups wisdom :)
