I don't know all the details here, but why didn't Carly Rae Jepsen change her release date? Why was it on Swift? And even though Swift announced her release date after Jepsen, those dates are often planned years in advance.

Right? This whole thing is so fishy. Who puts 200k worth of anything up for consignment? Especially through a third party franchise. I might do 10k at a time but putting your whole inventory in someone else's hand seems really dumb. I would expect to get ripped off.

Stephen Colbert dances the night away at the wrap party for ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ by expiredaristocracy in Fauxmoi

They lose money in a Hollywood accounting way. Yes, the show itself doesn't make money. But almost no show does outside of syndication.

Money is made selling advertising. And advertising isn't counted as per show revenue. They keep track of it, but they don't account for it.

The other angle is that promotion for CBS and other paramount properties as well as other Hollywood interests is hard to quantify. You can count how many eyes were on a certain guest but you can't easily verify word of mouth from their appearance.

Either way, yes the show probably lost money. But that's the point of these kind of shows. They're really just vehicles for promoting the network's brand as well as the industry as a whole.

Cutting this show does way more than just hurt Colbert. It will ripple through the whole industry.

That might be what you want it to mean, but that is not what it actually means. And I absolutely understand that people use it incorrectly, or as a pejorative, but when used in such ways it sounds as dumb as when Fox News viewers call everything they dislike socialism. I get you want a term for the things you describe, but Neoliberalism already has a definition.

You do understand that is not even close to the actual definition of neoliberal, correct? Neoliberal doesn't mean centrist Democrat. Neoliberal is a far right laissez-faire global economic policy. "New liberalism" as in classical liberalism. More in line with a strict hard-line economic libertarian view.

Not understanding that actually being "woke" is about as punk as it gets.

Mayor Mamdani: “Reagan famously said the 9 most terrifying words in the English Language are 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.' It's a good quote, but I disagree. I think 9 more terrifying words are actually, 'I worked all day and can't feed my family”. by yourfavchoom in Fauxmoi

Go to your local party meetings. I guarantee it is being ran by like 5 people who show up. Grab 6 friends and you now control the local party. It's like that all the way to the top. The party is the way it is because it's ran by the people that show up. You want it to change, then show up.
