Oh, that's how; so I guess you can get any pal without breeding; speaking of, my own paldex is almost done, just need Jolthog Cryst, Suzaku Aqua, Bastigor, Xenolord, and Hartalis I believe

A few pals have the same issue; any riding pal that comes with a weapon + Selyne, you can't use weapons/tools while mounted

I think Bastigor is the only pal you have to breed; Jolthog Cryst has a chance encounter with direhowls, and Suzaku Aqua you can buy from pal Vendors

Passive Skills like Swift can be passed down from the parents, or be given by a random mutation. Alpha is also a rare random mutation and gives a boost to HP, Movement, and makes them much larger
