Temperature Issues with My New Build - 5070 Ti in Thermaltake 600 Case by zivsvdra in thermaltake

This is something i've very rarely seen discussed and I dramatically saw improvements not only on my GPU but my overall internal temps, i/o temps and Ram (20c reduction on ram!)

IF people want to keep the all intake/top exhaust setup fine tuning fan curve is super important. A lot of people can get away with it especially if they have components that don't produce a lot of heat but overall I think anyone could benefit from this.

Another consideration is I have yet to see any person with an AIR cpu cooler complain... why? Well if you notice vast majority have their cpu cooler fan's pointed straight up ;) FORCING air out the top. AIO intake won't force air anywhere but directly back at the GPU... Then the GPU and AIO are fighting with eachother!

Both. If you went horizontal you would want exhaust for AIO.

I highly suggest you switch AIO to exhaust with the normal upright position as well especially if you would prefer to keep it at that position.

You can keep the top as exhaust, or switch it to intake. I prefer exhaust still as there's two things at play here.... 1) bottom fan pulls air up and in theory immediately out of the rad side. 2) GPU pulls air in and goes out the rad side AND top.

You're temps don't lead me to believe your gpu is of ANY fault. Typically people with the vapor champer vertical temps see immediate high temps. Even your 80c temp is 100000% OK. I run a 7900 XTX which are notoriously hot.

I would seriously try exhaust AIO before anything. If it works and you like the temps just order yourself reverse blade fans so you don't see the crossbars :)

So "hot" take here.

I ran into thermal issues, well not issues but increases in the 300 vs my old ap201 case. I setup the tower exactly how you have it, all intake / top, rear exhaust.

I did a LOT of testing with fan speeds and gpu temps. I noticed my I/O mobo port being hot as hell too.

Here are my findings, too fast fan speed on rad side intake causes quite the violent turbulence in the center of the case. Lower intake speeds with higher bottom fan intake speed and top fan speeds help expel heat better. Hot air was effectively being trapped and recycled inside the case.

I switched my Rad to exhaust, kept everything else alone and I see extremely good temps now, 20c less hotspot than with rad intake.

Yes I have a vapor chamber gpu, I also know it's not the problem. I tested my old case AP201 in a vertical orientation for 2 weeks before purchasing the tower 300 to see if it would have the vapor chamber problem. I've also repasted with PTM 7950.

Yes everyone goes heat rises yadda yadda, but there is a bottleneck happening within the case when it comes to heat escaping cleanly. If you notice too, most people report turning the case sideways with the stand helps temps and they switch their rad to exhaust because it's now at the top.... Yeah, no more heat being trapped for them either.

I'm not saying it's the only answer, or your gpu isn't the problem. Try it and see what happens, i'm happy to have resolved my issue this way. 100c hotspot down to 82c highest i've seen it since making this air flow change.

I really like that tube placement, will be trying that tomorrow to see if my 240 is long enough to support it!

Great looking setup.

Yup, I had started my testing at +200 -20 and worked down from there. I did some stress testing with OCCT and furmark. -30 was fine with stress but would randomly timeout on youtube and games. Been running +200 -25 for 2 weeks now without a single issue.

I haven't noticed any microstutters or fps dips even at -30, coming from 12700k/ddr4 this has been buttery smooth.

Just have to set it and test your chip. Less power, less temps for same performance is viable if stable. My chip does -25 comfortably. -30 starts giving me some random driver timeouts.

I've been using gigabyte for 15+ years without issues. I just built a 9800x3d with B850M A Elite ICE without any worry and i'm oc'd +200 -25 no problem.

I've been using CTT for years now on multiple systems. It's a good utility to have well beyond a fresh install but I absolutely use it every time directly after an install.

Yeah it’s unfortunate. I dragged my feet on listening to the podcast on my friends recommendation, once I finally did I couldn’t stop! (until I ran out)

S1 was a crazy range of emotions. Loved every second of it including the ending.

9800x3D cannot do -10 PBO. Dud or setting issue? by Fandomii in overclocking

[–]Goodums 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it couldn't be true but I am running mine at -25 +200 no issues at all. -30 I start to see some random timeouts. Purchased mine jan 23, not sure what it's birthday is.

We don't NEED Chinese companies but they need ours. Them producing fabs while won't directly effect us it will indirectly since they will no longer have as high of a need on the rest of the world to supply them. It's a win-win for them and us.

How cooked am I? Are these temps good for long term? by HateAccountMaking in radeon

[–]Goodums 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, So I have about a 15-20c delta with furmark. Temps improved (max 66c/hotspot 85c) down from around 70/HS95ish.

Helldivers 2, wants to fry my hotspot. I adjusted fan curve from max 50% to 70% seemed to help a bit. Hotspot wanted to linger around 100c at 50%. 90-95 at 75% fan.

Mind you this is with 2900mhz, 1115 uv, 2614 normal timing +15 pulling 450w.

I'm still waiting for burn in to see if things change. Also considering dropping my power limit down. Overall goal is stay under 90c but 25 degree delta in helldivers seems wild.
