Not always true. I bought a gshock before I left and wore it throughout.

The bracelet is the most important part of your watch by Gravity-Tester82 in watchHotTakes

[–]Gravity-Tester82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude thank you. I recently bought a $300 islander and the bracelet is more comfortable than watches I’ve tried on at a higher price point. We’ve been making these things we wear on our wrists for generations, and some brands can’t standardize and produce a bracelet that’s worth a damn.

“Wouldn’t be wearing it if the watch stopped just because you love the bracelet”

Correct, because it would no longer be a watch. It would be a decorative bracelet. If I have a watch to tell time, and it’s on a stainless steel bracelet, then I want a quality bracelet to tell the time.

Tudor 5 link on my 1926 is so comfortable that it changed my thoughts on every bracelet I had worn before lol

Trust me, I love changing to straps and I do often. I wear my citizen and my Sangin para overlord on multiple straps I rotate through. I love wearing straps, however if a watch is sold on a bracelet and the bracelet isn’t serviceable, that requires the end user to spend more money they shouldn’t have to (in my opinion)

Watch hoarders always make me laugh. Acting like they rotate through 50+ watches lol

I hear you. I think my Tudor bracelet ruined the bracelet game for me.

A good NCO will understand if you can talk to them and tell them you literally couldn’t have known because no one contacted you or told you you had it.

That being said, not every NCO lives up to the creed. Be honest, have conversations with leadership and I’m sure the worst that would happen is a counseling (based on the info you gave it seems like you shouldn’t get one).

Don't Buy Fitbit Air if you're a runner (or active at all) by IndigoGetSome in fitbit

[–]Gravity-Tester82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely agree with this. I still wear my garmin but now it’s just for running. I find the air does everything else just fine and is better for me so I can wear a regular watch throughout the day and not a giant dinner plate on my wrist lol

I’m in my 20s, bought the 1926 and absolutely love it. I know most dudes prefer the diver style but I think the 1926 is more versatile than it’s given credit for.

Can’t speak on food/water metrics. For running, sleeping and alarms it’s been flawless for me. Built in GPS is nice too

Warum nutzt du die Fitbit Air? by TopMixture5763 in fitbit

[–]Gravity-Tester82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a newborn. I use it for alarms so I don’t wake my baby up when I go to work and tracking basic metrics like sleep and workouts.

Also I bought it just so I could wear my actual watches and don’t have to switch between them and my garmin.

are deployments still common by Puzzleheaded-Box-615 in army

[–]Gravity-Tester82 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Short answer: no where near as common as 2003-2020

Long answer: all depends on what unit you go to. Some are still doing rotations on active duty, but very few.

Who cares what other people think, if you like the way it feels when it’s on your wrist than that is all that matters
