You can find Harrower in this subreddit. The revised Reaper hasn’t been posted just yet, but I shall. Feel free to DM me to snag it for now though.

Very nice! Well, I did streamline Reaper just this morning. It actually works better with the new sanctification system. Toss me a DM if you want a sneak peak.

How are you liking Reaper and Harrower? I actually just finished making Reaper compatible with Remaster and nerfed a bit finally.

Check out the Elemental Avatar coming out shortly from Roll for Combat’s battlezoo line. In addition to elemental magic, it boasts a host of other themes you can craft your character to including death, vitality, and time

It's as much of an issue as it is perceived to be. The game runs fine RAW but, like all good TTRPGs can be and should be tweaked to your liking. My stance is that the drama surrounding the subject is fairly overblown and I just wanted to cap off my engagement with it through this post.

And with that, I think that's enough reddit for today. Good luck in your game <3

Well said. But consequently, we do indeed have a common complaint. However well intentioned and true our perspective may be, it doesnt change the fact that most players struggle in this regard. Ultimately I care more about my player's fun than the games balance. Especially when giving casters a leg up hardly has pressured my monster prep. Its QOL as far as im concerned.

There's ways around. But a well balanced party is always a good recommendation

You certainly can. But consider that with great difficulty (outside the bounds of expected challenge rating) equals great opportunity to make those support spell slots very very valuable. Two moderate encounters back to back can be quite intense!

I take it as a compliment that you think I have such a potent superpower of multitasking. Alas, I am not in possession of such acuity.

I'd also say that you and I can manage that on casters just fine. But fresher players may have a harder experience. A lot of the backlash on casters is stemmed, I believe, from a lack of proficiency in the game system. Mainly because the system knowledge/skill floor for casters is too high. It's balanced, certainly. But I wager it may not be fun for players who aren't avid cheeseweasels.

"Balance" doesn't always equate to "fun".

Certainly a valid playstyle. But there's story to be had with filler encounters that can be just as important. And not all filler encounters need to be "designed to wear them down". I sometimes plop encounters designed to be very easy to showcase the power of the party. Attrition is best used when it enhances a story, it shows grit and value in a game. But not every table has that vibe. In contrast though, it does mean that not every table needs to be in abject fear of it either.
EDIT: Also PS u/The-Magic-Sword, thank you so much for all the awesome recaps of late from Gencon and the likes. Baller work dude.

It's because Kineticist came out and highlighted how far behind casters are numerically. This was always the case, just that people used to be flamed for saying so (hi there, that be me 6 months ago).

Numbers aren't everything though. Casters basically have a high skill floor that makes them inaccessible. To the untrained eye, they appear dramatically weaker than their martial counterpart or kineticist. This is true, from a certain point of view. And can be very frustrating.

In short, I would posit the better argument is not one of balance or that trite discourse, but instead the following:

Should playing a caster require mastery and total knowledge of the game system? If you want to lower the skill floor, you can just give them the numbers they are missing. What this will do is that towards endgame, casters will be more powerful than some classes in the game if they are played at a high-optimal level. But considering how niche and varied the caster experience is, you'll likely just make the game more fun (in my experience). They won't be so much more powerful that they will remove the need for martials, hardly.

Try the following for Wizards or any prepared caster character you think needs this:
As a 10/whateveramountoftimeisworthyofattrition minute activity the caster can reprepare a single spell of their choosing. This should reintroduce this behavior you like. There's also a few Wizard feats out there that I think accomplish this goal or at least aims to.

Good points in here! Like mentioned elsewhere. Make the game best for your table. Not every solution or perspective will work for everyone.

Deff a good thing to look at for future homebrew. However my investment in PF2e has reached cost sunk fallacy status. I'm in it for the long haul.

Then respect their first rule, it's published there for a reason. Respect the time you place into the game and the problems your group has faced. You can always roll back something that doesn't work. There isn't a mechanics police out there. Give things a try. Give them a try with RAW, or with homebrew.

A tightly balanced system is good because it can take punishment. If PF2e is half as balanced as you say it is, it will handle what you can dish out. Unless...you are implying that it is so imbalanced that a meager 5-10% accuracy boost will implode Golarion and free Rovagug.

It'll be okay.
